Is there genuinely 1 indie game with ZX Spectrum style graphics, because i'm fairly sure there isnt.

L'Abbaye des Morts, Sinkh's Lair, Z-Exemplar and Prime Mover are the only ones I know of.
Not ones that a mass audience gives a flying fuck about.
Most retro-styled indies are NES graphics or what I like to call "nostalgia filtered" generic pixel art that don't really resemble any specific platform.
And I mean, I'm fine with that if your game is good or you don't have the time, money or skill to do anything else. It's just eye-rolling when it's a franchise like this that has no business doing it.

I wouldn't lump "skill" into there because anyone who has tried it can tell you that it's very difficult to do good pixel art animation, especially at small size/low colors. Good pixel art is a skill for sure.
Would you guys consider this to have Spectrum graphics?

I honestly can't see any point of releasing this game.
Or maybe it's just that they went wrong with a teaser(music, editing, cinematic etc)
Nostalgic value just isn't there for me.
^ Nostalgia value is always there. Just look how well the Disney Star Wars are doing based on just that and little else.
So I would hope this still uses 3 buttons, with jump being its own button.
If it uses the 2 button nes scheme, then that would be so stupid.
Good choices, although totally obscure.
Although for the most part the Spectrum couldn't even begin to run any of those, the 80s Brit computer hallmarks are all correct.
Nostalgia for Double Dragon? Yeah it was good for the 80s but it's hardly the hallmark of beat em up games.
Although really, "it came out before you was born!" is an effective sales technique
Agreed. Though I don't mind having it.. it's still a decent cheezy game(kinda... I hope so.. well yeah..). I just can't see the point from publishers perspective. They could've done so much more with this anniversary.Quote:
