Positive thoughts here people!
That is exactly my thought.
Once the mailing address confirmation emails were sent back in October, I thought it was completely reasonable to assume the game would ship in a few weeks. Like by the end of November at the latest.
How the hell are they still doing hardware tests, and going to get the carts manufactured and shipped before the end of the year?!
Final hardware testing means something like trying every combination of MD and CD to make sure that there's no hidden "quirk" that would keep it from running properly. While consoles have less of an issue with this than PCs (PC games are LUCKY to run on 75% of PCs within the specs of the game), the MD/CD has the distinction of being more tricky than most due to there being several models of the MD and CD, with a few being manufactured by completely different companies (the WonderMega and X'Eye). There are a few games that don't work on all MD/CD combinations, and I can understand WM not wishing for PS to be on that list as well.
Since my email had changed, when WM tried to confirm info, they ended up calling me to confirm address etc. Let's just say it was awesome to get a call out of the blue, & chat w/ someone who worked on the storyline for Pier Solar.
Of course. But that has nothing to do with the fact that delivery addresses were confirmed weeks ago, and now it appears that the final game is not even yet manufactured or assembled.
Oh, well. I'll just keep not thinking about it, and be surprised when it shows up.
The emails to confirm preorders just got my hopes and expectations up a little prematurely, I guess. though secretly I will be bummed if it doesn't ship be year's end
The step chilly willy is talking about was three months ago because 16bit HW shows many variations when pushing it to max.
The game is NOT under beta-testing. Only factory cartridges has been tested lately and its just routine checks. Some tester were playing the game test in order to make a official bug list (none has been found so far).
And YES, we need the address few days prior shipping, make sense as need to print envelopes & register parcels.
Thank you.
Nobody was questioning the need to confirm shipping addresses.
To me it sounds like manufacturing has begun if Fonzie said they were testing factory cartridges.
That's cool overall.
But if you guys plan to ship on Decemeber - that's badass idea. Stuff shipped in December gets lost and delayed RIDICULOUSLY. Especially for worldwide shipments.
What would you propose then? To wait until January because things might get delayed in December ?
- I assume that things are send with some kind of insurance so nothing should get lost.
My guess is they'll be using Tortoise Mail.
He knew that the game was available in limited quantities when he decided to charge nearly twice the price for literally the same thing that WM would have sold to the same person who will end up buying the scalped game from him!
This type of thing really ticks me off and the fact that someone here is defending this kind of action totally boggles my mind!
Edit:
Here's what is really funny about this:
WM isn't making any money on this game. Doesn't it seem strange that someone would profit from this project even before the developers? This guys whole goal in doing this is to make a few quick bucks. If you ask me, any profit he makes should go straight to WM!
Christuserloeser what you're doing is disrespectful to the very nature of this project -> a not-for-profit fan project
