Just to be a dick, if Hoston erased Pier Solar and himself from everyone's memory, How was Rudy alive at the end? He would have been dead without Pier Solar extending his life.

Um, how about
USING FUCKING SPOILER TAGS ?!!!
It's really extremely selfish of you guys to spoiler the hell out of people who did not even get their copy yet. :bang:
Btw, I received my Posterity Edition copy today! :D - Call me crazy but I am almost as happy to receive that little magazine / player's guide that came with it as I am receiving the game itself :o
"We all met at the SEGA fan community Eidolon's Inn.We were interested in doing an RPG based on the personalities on that board. We scrapped that once we realized that everyone on the board was a complete lunatic, and instead decided to go with an original story." - Fonzie, SIZE issue 16, 07/2010
hah! I remember that. I was supposed to be christuserloeser, one of the badass evil characters....
- Looking back it was a good idea to scrap this concept. An RPG with only badass evil characters would be pretty boring.
How do you do those boxes that you have to put your pointer over to see the text? I don't know.
This is the Pier Solar thread so this is where my question goes.
like this (quote me)
To answer you question:
There's actually a hint as to what's going on in the internal logic of the game if you do the ice-castle quest. At least, that's one explanation. Another explanation is that it isn't Rudy (the text during the ending actually points this out). Who it is is better left for a sequel. :)
However, if we do make a sequel it seems that general consensus is we should start with a fresh story as many people, including myself, weren't particularly satisfied with the game's plot.
Edit: Oh! I thought you meant the "Rudy" in the abyss, not the still alive Rudy at the end. Hoston uses Pier Solar to re-write things a little - the plot points this out - keeping Rudy alive was just one of the decisions he made.
I guess when you have god-like abilities that makes sense. I wonder why he chose to keep his parents seperate since he saw how upset his mom was by Rudy's death? You have to remember us Yanks are used to happy/sappy endings:p The guy doesn't even get the girl in the end lol
Sean, maybe you should do a timeline for PS-related events that would clarify things. :)
I was puzzled a few times too, even if it was just minor things (goaman ruins abandoned for centuries, but Mohu most likely only a young adult for example)
Uhm... I think you could have posted that here. After all all of Sega-16 was waiting for your copy to arrive! :)Quote:

Or you could put the extra-copy up for a competition on Sega-16 or so.
And I expect you to do night-shifts so your review really shines! :D
I've been meaning to post some impressions, but since I played so little of it due to my brother's visit, I wanted to give it more of a chance. I'm up to where Ecco got stuck (now I can pass it. Thanks!), so I plan to spend my weekend with it.
I've already emailed Fonzie that my copy arrived. I wasn't planning to keep quiet and get another copy or anything.Quote:

A copy for a contest would be cool, but you guys already did that, right? I seem to remember you having a contest of some sort a while back.
Don't worry, it will be as fair and objective as possible. :)Quote:

Kinda sucks the White Nomad contest has largely gone unnoticed. I myself would enter when my reprint shows up, but I don't know of anything I could use the stickers with. There are no monuments near me, nor historical sites, or anything of real world significance really. To me, the contest seems to favor people who live in just the right places of the world. People living in small towns / cities are at a disadvantage. I honestly can't think of anything that would meet the contest's criteria other than statues of important historical figures or things like that.
Melf, your brother is very rude. He really has some nerve showing up on that day. Couldn't he have waited a month? I hope you gave him a good yelling-at in front of the entire family (including any and all children so they can learn the importance of Sega games as well).
Guntz, it has gone largely unnoticed? I didn't know that. I thought people were participating. I hadn't been because I think someone else could be better served by a Nomad than myself. I would have projected the Pier Solar logo onto a movie screen in front of a sold-out audience before their movie began if I wanted to win.
