Probably packaging is all. Removal of the 'Poster' or something too. Not too hard to imagine.
I doubt they can answer that, or are thinking about it at this point in time anyway.

so the Japanese version is in English? and pal version IS optimized?
(optimized code does not like 60hz switches)
hmm.
Yep, all editions have English and PAL version is optimized.
Sorry for bringing it up, any future edition of the game (if there will be any, it is not certain at all) are as said not planned at all, so there is not much point in discussing it now (feel free to do so if you wish, I'm not trying to shut anyone's mouth) because we put 100% of our efforts in completing the game. Hope you understand and thank you all for the support. Any other questions, I'll answer as well as I can :).
I know overly-simplified definitions of 'Betas & Release Candidates' is kind of stupid as presented, but it's been a pretty straight forward question to handle in my opinion.
Am I the only one here curious to an answer?
It would certainly help gauge release expectations better than complete silence.
No, the ROM is not finalized. Happy now? :)
I seem to remember something about a Rom-release of the game in the distant future after the production run sold...
Yep, there are a million possibilities and ideas, however none are confirmed at this moment and it will take some time until new plans come up.
"POST 1000...YOU ALL SUCK!"
"REPLY 1000...JUST KIDDING!"
I am not entirely sure, why the WM-team does not want the game to be dumped. It is
supposed to be unplayable on emulators anyway, because it uses some very advanced
functions of the Mega Drive. Of course, once the rom is released, there will be soon a
PS-update to some emulators I guess...
But the thing is, they claim Pier Solar to be a non-profit project, so the price should be
calculating only from shipment, cartridge production etc. So why not release a rom, if
you are not making money with the game? The difference between the actual cartridge
with artwork, in a box, plus manual, poster and a simple rom is enough to make
collectors to buy it anyway. And seriously, no one else except the Sega-enthusiasts is
going to buy a game for such an old console.
We've been over this discussion a lot on the official forums... We need to sell all physical copies or we will lose a lot of money (some added costs has already put us on the minus scale). Releasing a ROM would most likely detract many people from ordering the game and we would have lots of unsold games and lost money. Also, there may be plans for the future, a free ROM wouldn't fit them, simply put.
