Is there ever a bad reason to appreciate a game?
A couple of years ago I had a discussion with some guy who critized me for playing some puzzle game on the Playstation. When asking him what his issue really was, he basically replied "Since you may as well play it as a flash game, why did you get a Playstation to begin with?"
And while this guy never really knew me (thus I didn't take it personal), I've been more and more frustrated by his opinion over the years. Hearing someone saying that you've gotten into video games for the wrong reasons and that a console deserves better than a game that I appreciate for its simplicity gives me the impression of some kind of elitism, but maybe I'm wrong. What do you think?
To me, video games are all about having fun. As long as I don't feel like I'm wasting my time, everything has potential to be good and it has its place on the system I'm playing it on. Today I've pretty much made a complete transition to PC so there's room for everything, but I'm all for singleplayer (never liked multiplayer of any sort) which some people may think defeats the purpose of using a gaming PC.
