I just played through PT again on the PS4. I absolutely loved it. The Dali-like moving paintings, schizophrenic illusions, and claustrophobic hallway. The complete defenselessness.
Are there any video games or movies that PT took inspiration from or is similar to on any console or PC? Or is it truly one of a kind?
Play RE6.
Believe it or not, horror genre isn't that big, so chasing for big bucks Konami might have been right to cancel the PT game. I mean, just look at the latest RE game, Capcom finally gave RE fans the game they've been asking for (a horror RE game) and it sold worse then the 2 previous action RE games.
I just tried Layers of Fear. Pretty interesting so far, if a little pretentious.
I've tried RE6 and imo it's more combat based, which is interesting but doesn't have the same immersion and story.
Huh? Those are older games. Let's see how well RE7 does after five more years of sales. As of right now, Resident Evil 7 has sold 4.1 million units which makes it the eighth best selling Capcom game of all time.Quote:

I finished the Evil Within, it feels a lot more like a return to the original RE stuff but a bit too much exposition.
