I don't believe at all that the snes was more popular than the nes worldwide, except maybe in japan.

The NES definitely sold better worldwide than the SNES, but I think there's more of a market today for SNES than NES.
So Nintendo has announced the NES Classic is going back into production for a 2018 release, and they are preparing more SNES Classics for the launch than the entire original production run of NES Classics.
It would be sweet justice if all of the resellers who bought up the NES Classic were stuck selling them at below retail rates.
I wonder if they redesigned the NES classic to prevent hacking? That would make it 100% useless.
Hackers can be stopped, what?
Do they care about people hacking the NES Classic? I mean, if you want to play downloaded ROMs, there ARE other options available... The percent of people buying the NES Classic to hack has got to be small, anyway.
It's possible. Who knows what the licensing agreements for the third party games were like.
Nah! It`s really not a loss for the average scalper. If Nintendo releases enough supply, a scalper will recover their money by selling it for the purchase price.
With so many vultures around, I started to notice that alot of online stores in Canada are now limiting the number of units a person can purchase of a particular item.
This is especially the case with respect to Nintendo products in which they anticipate a high demand for. Gamestop, for example, will feature a statement advising consumers that "due to an anticipated high demand, we are limiting the item to one per customer". I suppose it was a reaction to the number of complaints they received. Or maybe it was due to the bad publicity; only recently have media outlets mentioned the fact that scalpers are using bots to purchase limited items online. What took them so long to implement this old idea? :?
Well, lets wait and see whether Nintendo keeps their word and increases the supply of both the SNES and NES classic. If I can`t walk into a store and see that the item is on the store shelf, I won`t go out of my way to seek it out. I`ve got other things to worry about then hunting down a hunk of grey plastic.
