I was in Walmart earlier and three consoles must have just been placed on the shelf. The line was long with people buying cells phones and such so I said screw it and left. The people in front of me were interested in it as well so I figured all three wold be gone but as I thought about it, I would have been shocked if they cold have afforded all three. I went back for the hell of it and picked up the last SNES Classic. Why? IDK.
I went to one my local Walmarts yesterday and they had 3 of these retro-bricks sitting on a shelf in the Switch section, no-one apparently interested in them. I didn't bother picking one up, but I'm hoping that this is an indication that Nintendo is finally staying true to their word and that supply is meeting the absurd level of demand for these things, at least locally where I am.
Hoping it will stick it to the local scalpers who bought them up on so that they could try and sell them for 300 bux. It will be karma if they are stuck with them.
These are roughly going for $120-130 shipped on ebay. Minus ebay/paypal's 12.9% and shipping, sellers are probably making no more than $20 off of each unit sold. Factor in the time spent waiting in line / hunting around for these / packing, and these scalpers are not making much.
the more emulation boxes are sold the less chances to ever see a real hardware system coming back to life from Nintendo, Sega, etc.
if Sega had the Nintendo fanbase they could release a Neptune with SMS/GG compatibility with integrated chips not fpgas and Mali gpus

All I'm saying is that I'm surprised that these 3 systems were still on the shelves a day after the last day of confirmed deliveries and with "strong" demand still for these things, I would of reasonably expected them to have been long gone (likely they are gone by now, but I was still surprised to see them there yesterday nevertheless)

Your story doesn't surprise me for one big reason: Walmart is inconsistent when it comes to stocking the video game section. My local store(s) is notorious for not having a new release on display until late in the day (if ever) or most recently ignoring the street date for Doom (Switch) and The Devil Within 2 by four days. Prior to the day I picked mine up I failed to see any info suggesting the chain would have stock on that particular day.

Mine looked like that as well. The case also was full of both regular and Splatoon 2 Switch bundles. Besides the mini being gone soon after placement, all Switch consoles were gone the following day.
I haven't been back to check, so I don't know if the SNES classics are still there ( though I doubt it, as this was like 2 days ago). As for the switch, pretty much every store near me has had them in stock consistently for the last 2 - 3 months.
Best Buy got a limited amount today I think. I would basically have to take a day off work or switch my schedule just to have a decent shot and I am not going to fuck my OT while my job is throwing it at us. Wow I actually managed to find one at Bargain Hunt for only 65 dollars. I thought about getting both of them but meh. Also got my Neo-Geo Gold X from them a few years ago. Ironically my real Neo-Geo is being delivered as I type this, what an interesting Monday.
These things are all over the place in my area. Best Buy, GameStop, Toys r Us, Target, Walmart... They all have it in stock.
QuickSciFi, you're in Miami so they would probably ship larger cities more units. Also my Neo arrived with just 2 joysticks and no unit :mad::mad:
