Thanks to ROM collections and flash carts, I often have problems playing Genesis games because I genuinely feel like i've played everything.
Other than seriously obscure games that are great (and with a console this old, that doesn't happen very often at all), i've played it. Luckily the SNES exists.

This is a wonderful read about the subject that was being discussed. It's one of the reasons why miss Kemps site is one of my favorites when it comes to gaming.

I seen just seen that Red Letter Media video and it's so dumb. I want my 16:45 minutes and destroyed brain cells back.
To me, the original Sonic isn't a good game "anymore" ... but by that, it means while I loved it at the time, once Sonic 2 came out, I couldn't play it anymore. The spin dash was a big deal for me. It is kind of like how I did not like any GTA games prior to San Andreas, once San Andreas came out. And the mechanic that made that was the ability to not die in the water.
I don't know about that, Tripredacus. Seems to me like the more I play the first three Sonic games, the more I realize they've regressed from Sonic 1 onward.
Yeah Sonic 3 is just awesome, it's by far my favourite classic Sonic.

RedLetterMedia lost all credibility the day they didn't rip The Force Awakens apart, but even approved of it. Especially for how known they are on ripping the prequels apart and that their main focus is movie critiquing.
Back to that Sonic is overrated video of theirs, it's really just a bunch of nonsense rambling to back one person's bias for the series. So now Red Letter Media also shows they know nothing about videogames either, but still cover games because there's views in it. What else is new.
