reminds me how most woman should shut their fucking mouths 24/7. dear god these voices make me so aggressive.
I think it's endemic to coastal cities, where the nasal twang is omnipresent.
Wow, someone finally found it? This thing has been a bit of a holy grail of lost NES games. Glad to see it in action and hoping they'll dump it.
The only previously known footage was from Video Power back in the day (0:48 mark)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Gogogadget again.
Bultje's comment on that is actually what made me watch the video in the first place. 10/10, would bang again.
People report posts? Why not just mercilessly rip on him instead?
Or do what I do and remember that until someone physically threatens me or trespasses on my property, they can largely do as they like. Also, hide your power level when you're not anonymous.
I think Crystalpepsifan meant how come people actually report posts instead of starting a flamewar =P
Sometimes somebody says something so stupid that people can't even be bothered to reply back and just let mods deal with it. (also that sentence has the first six words starting with S o_O)
I doubt it. I mean there were a number of games with simultaneous NES and SNES releases between 91 and 94. Plus, while certainly a popular PC title and eventually a fairly popular SNES title, it's not as if Sim City was a console seller. I think the issue had more to do with the technical limitations of the NES in running the game without completely gutting everything. Maxis, Nintendo, or whomever were likely unhappy with the results and decided to scrap it. As we've seen over the years, that's something that has happened with a number of different games. That's all just speculation on my part though, albeit common sense/educated speculation.
The canon was that it would have been too expensive to release, and as SNES was already out, the NES game would not have recouped costs. The video shows it using MMC5 and extra memory, making it the most expensive to produce NES game.
I took it as a figure of speech. I mean, when we're with friends I'm sure we all talk like this too, but have a good laugh at it instead of reacting all boring PC like as if on the internet.
Nah, we just let it pass as if nothing happened because there's a stigma against offending people (even when they're being offensive themselves) ._. Reporting posts is much easier precisely because nobody but the person in charge will know about it.
I get it, we should handle it ourselves instead of running to teacher. But then you just get a three or four page argument between two or three people, which brings more attention to it, and the offensive party is often emboldened by the backlash... some people and comments just aren't worth the flame war.
Well, life isn't perfect. Also what sik said, you start acting all PC in real life, you become the party pooper. And well, sense of humor tend to favor the dark side. Sometimes more dark then I can relate. ie. Ever watch that Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where Larry David and this guy look at this freak book and start laughing like crazy? Well this is actually a true life thing.
Nah, that was in reference specifically to the example given. In a forum you have a way to report that behavior without causing a fuss. When talking to a group of friends in person it's pretty much impossible. In the latter case most people will prefer to let it pass to avoid yet more problems than to actually confront the issue, especially when the most obvious immediate retort will be "stop being so politically correct" (that's literally what we got here in response to the reports in fact...).
EDIT: added quote because ninja'd by another post. And yeah, "party pooper" is the easiest way to put it.
...So am I the only one who noticed that it's the voice of a teenage boy in the video, not that of a woman?
(What that says about everyone's private lives, I can only speculate.)
I guess, but really, it's some teenage kid?
I think you over-estimate the average internet user. ;)
Full disclosure, I wasn't one of the members who reported this, although I certainly don't blame them for it. But really, what good would it do to call Bultjie out on this? If he really thinks that most women should keep their mouths shut 24/7, you think any amount of arguing or passive discussion is going to change his mind or make him feel bad?
Anyway... SimCity on the NES, huh? That was pretty optimistic of them. I can't say I'm surprised it never came out.
So for those who did watch the video and that the chick is now a kid, therefore female politics out of the way, is it finally cool to admit the kid is even a tad annoying?
I see now why you've got that "Rebel scum" subtitle under your name, MrMatthews. http://storage.proboards.com/6576594...IfRZXZprNR.png
... I want a sub title like that too, need to figure this out now... [EDIT - it worked! Success!]
But yeah, I'm with you, MrMatthews. Only I'm not sexist, I equally disliked that commentary back when he was known as a female too.
That took awhile to reply. Though maybe I worded something wrong, but I see everything is back in order... so, how's about you help me figure out how to create a poll in that other topic. http://storage.proboards.com/6576594...bAaMTZxPBc.png
