I doubt it. I mean there were a number of games with simultaneous NES and SNES releases between 91 and 94. Plus, while certainly a popular PC title and eventually a fairly popular SNES title, it's not as if Sim City was a console seller. I think the issue had more to do with the technical limitations of the NES in running the game without completely gutting everything. Maxis, Nintendo, or whomever were likely unhappy with the results and decided to scrap it. As we've seen over the years, that's something that has happened with a number of different games. Nah, that was in reference specifically to the example given. In a forum you have a way to report that behavior without causing a fuss. When talking to a group of friends in person it's pretty much impossible. In the latter case most people will prefer to let it pass to avoid yet more problems than to actually confront the issue, especially when the most obvious immediate retort will be "stop being so politically correct" (that's literally what we got here in response to the reports in fact...).Quote:

They didn't have an issue releasing it for the Commodore 64, despite technical limitations. And the C64 version is indeed lacking in several areas. There was also a black & white version for Macintosh, more powerful than C64 but with its own issues.Quote:
