Super 112-in-1 multigame cart list breakdown

For a while now this has been floating around, and like a lot of older Famicom multi's it randomly picks a variety of sources for its makeup. I waded through this the other night and tried to pinpoint everything, although there's a few I'm not sure of and others I'm sure I missed. Please post any needed changes in the thread and I'll update this list. Everything is assumed to be the US version and region free unless noted, and PAL games work fine on NTSC setups. And I'll go ahead and save others from some typing; flash carts, Raspberry Pi's, coolrom, money up a hog's ass, Double Pro Fighter, Multi-Game Hunter, 5v/3v, fat untapered pin connectors, Genecyst, etc etc etc.

There's actually at least 2 different versions of this 112-in-1 cart.

One has yellow text on black background with the title "SUPER GAME 112 IN 1 YH160118". I'll call this the "bad cart".
One has white text on light blue background with the title "SEGA MULTIGAME MENU 112 IN 1 V0.1". I'll call this the "good cart".

They both have the same games, but they have different versions of the some of the roms and other little differences.

On the "bad cart", these 4 games do not work on my US/Japan consoles. I'm not sure if they are PAL region-locked (I don't have a PAL console), or if they simply don't work at all.

On the "good cart", all of the above are either NTSC-U or NTSC-J and they all play on my US/Japan consoles.

On the "good cart", Thunderforce IV seems to be a hacked version. It's title screen is Thunderforce IV, but it plays on US consoles, and underneath the title screen it says "CRACKED + TRAINED BY HIGH SOCIETY". I don't know what the differences are.

The "good cart" has Bare Knuckle 3 (JP), but all the text is translated into English. The "bad cart" has Streets of Rage 3 (US).

The "good cart" has MUSHA (US). The "bad cart" has MUSHA Aleste (JP).

I didn't check each game in depth, so there might be other different rom versions I might have missed.

The "good cart" plays Sonic 1 Green Hill Zone music on the game selection menu. The "bad cart" doesn't play any music on the menu.

On the "good cart", you can press left/right on the dpad to change pages on the menu. On the "bad cart", you can't press left/right to change pages. You have to use up/down to scroll through each game.

The "good cart" has next to no typos on the menu (only one I spotted was Assault Suit "Laynos"). The "bad cart" has many typos.

While in a game, pressing Reset on the "good cart" will reset the current game. Pressing Reset on the "bad cart" will return to the game selection menu.

The "good card" has real screws holding the cartridge together, in addition to the tabs. The "bad cart" is only held together by the tabs (it has fake screw heads molded as part of the cartridge shell).

I didn't have any problems with Space Harrier 2 or Super Hang-On. They boot up fine without pressing Reset.

Similar looking menu and typos to the 112-in-1 "bad cart", but this time you can press left/right to change pages.

For some reason this 131-in-1 cart will not work on real hardware (tested on 2 JP MD1's and a US GEN3). It only works on my Fei Hao clone consoles.
Both of the 112-in-1 carts work on real hardware.

so do they use a custom (unemulated and not everdrive compatible) mapper? I guess they haven't recoded 112 games' memory adresses, right?

I just noticed Castlevania: The New Generation on the "bad" 112-in-1 is actually the PAL prototype..... interesting.

This might be an error with your cart or system. Alien Storm is PAL and GA3 is JP/NTSC, but neither have region checks. Both work fine for me on a US/JP model 1 with 32x attached. I also never ran into anything requiring a reset, but like you mentioned it would reset back to the menu anyway.

Both Rocket Knight games are PAL and are still region locked, so they hang at the Konami logo. Konami did this with all their games; rather than throw up an error screen they boot like they're working properly then hang at the Konami logo.

What is the cost on a cart like this? Somebody locally is selling one, but it seems expensive.

Yeah looks like it's my console. I just retested the "bad cart" again on a JP VA0 MD1, and both Alien Soldier and Golden Axe 3 do not load up (black screen). Then I tested the same cart on a Fei Hao MD clone and a Genesis 3 and both games work fine.

Does Robocop 3 run on these things? I know that game absolutely hates the hardware not being reset properly, I had a 4-in-1 cartridge where I had to press Reset immediately to switch to Robocop 3 or it'd crash if I tried to play it.

The 820 games one is actually an Everdrive with an included 8GB SanDisk SD card preloaded with MD and SMS roms. I have that same one.

Wait, so you can buy an Everdrive which sells for around $100 with a disk of all the games flashed onto it? How much did that run you and are all of the ROMs good or are there problems like there are on the 112 in 1 on the "bad" copy?

I bought it from the same seller as in the link. It was $35.99 shipped to the US.

It did seem to have the complete romset for MD and SMS, but they organized the MD roms into only two folders (#-M and M-Z), so some roms didn't show up because there were too many roms in one folder.

I instead used my own 32GB SanDisk SD card, downloaded the complete romsets of MD/SMS/32X, and organized the MD roms through individual alphabetical folders (#, A, B, C,...etc). I had to split the "S" roms into three separate S folders since there are so many of them.

Eventually I might get the an official Everdrive for instant loading and save states (this Everdrive clone is based on an older version of Everdrive), but for $36 this is not bad.
