Hey so a while ago, the ends of my 32x's AV cables broke, when I was moving, and the objects fell from the entertainment stand. (TV, stereo, etc.)
So the tips are broken off from the 32x cables, and the tips are stuck in the holes on the TV. Is there a simple fix here? (For a while, I could make a connection that would work, but not anymore.)

This wold be a standard run of the mill composite RCA AV cable or some fancy S-Video cable?
Edit: Also to get an idea of the severity of the TV's jack or jacks could you post a photo.
They make new cables for the 32X finally. Is the real problem pins stuck in the TV?

Haha I was actually setting UP my entertainment center, after moving into a new place, when the things started to fall. I was basically balancing my TV on top of my stereo, when the stereo and TV fell. I managed to catch them, but the stereo got a couple scratches, and my 32x AV cables broke. The TV is a flatscreen from 2010 so it's one of the last really HEAVY flatscreens on the market.Quote:

I recently lost my nine year old Samsung LN26A450 to the March 2nd nor'easter power outage. The power board just was unable to cope with the power malfunction.
I still have the thing and thinking if I want to put my time and money into it to fix .. the screen was messing up too. It's got 32,850 or so hours on it.
But in the interim replaced with this Samsung - 32" Class (31.5" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - Stupid - HDTV
So I'm actually surprised that there don't seem any solutions for broken AV cables though. I searched YT and didn't see much. One possibility might be cutting it and splicing it with good ends of AV cables, and then wrapping it in electrical tape lol. So I might do that if I find some extra AV cables for a VCR or something, maybe. But I'm surprised that apparently everyone just buys new ones if the ends of some AV cables happen to break. I expected more homemade solutions to be posted lol.
I seem to recall any experience I had splicing cables, at least composite back in the day when I was poor kid lead to lots of noise. If it's just the RCA end and you really want to keep the cable I would just buy a new end and solder it up. Those are easy to find. It's the later genesis Din style end that is unobtanium.
Yeah splicing audio and video lines to make my own cables or adapters was something I did as a teen. They worked but not always the best option.
I see you are serious about fixing your old cable. There are RCA connector ends you can solder on to fix them.
Amphenol ACPR-YEL Diecast RCA Connector Yellow with Gold Contacts , Red and White .
And there are solderless RCA ends too such as Solderless RCA Plug (4-Pack) .
Keep in mind the small circumferences of the each line (video and L&R of audio) the Sega 9-pin AV cables in relation to strain relief size needed for a nice fit.
^Thanks, I might try those soderless ends, they seem really simple and easy. I'm not sure if I'll do that before I just buy a new set of 32x AV cables online. However, I already do have extra AV cables laying around, so I almost want to do it just because I have those extra cables lol.
Strangely enough, the cheapest online cables that I need are from Walmart.com, of all places:

I had no idea Walmart has been selling Genesis-specific items, present day... lol. They sure don't in their stores (AFAIK) but online, Walmart.com must be trying to sell absolutely everything that could be found on amazon and ebay.
They're on Walmart's site but they are "Sold & shipped by Video Game Advantage" a third party seller with a 3.5 out of 5 star rating.
