Hey all. Don't know if you guys already found out, but someone has taken the care of translating the Sailor Moon game for our beloved console. For those who don't know, this is a quite nice beat'em up.

Is it? I saw the translation but when I looked it up it got some bad reviews. Said it was very repetitive and too easy to stun enemies, making it boring.
Guess I'll check it out anyway. Can't hurt, I mean the screenshots looked nice enough...
It's not perfect, but definitely better than its SNES counterpart in this case. I think you need to play it on Hard for the true ending, though. Always good to see another game for MD finished, still.
Yeah, another English translation is always welcome!
Also, like with the Nadia: Secret of Blue Water translation, I think this one will be great for fans of the series.
To those who would prefer another game translated, be glad the Mega Drive only got this Sailor Moon game while Super Famicom got nine! Yes, NINE (9)!
Ahh, now I can finally read the opening story, thanks for this!
Wasn't trying to insult anyone's work. Obviously fan translators work hard for long hours for free. But of course not every single translation project is going to be the greatest game/piece of art ever created.
I enjoy beatemups and was simply asking the OP if the game itself was good, since I googled it and saw several negative reviews. I assumed a forum that isn't even where the translation was originally posted would be a safe place to ask about it.
Again, all props to the translator. Sorry if I came off as rude...
Cool, I like this game. Shame that its rather high price these days makes getting a real copy seem poor value when the SFC version, and Sailor Moon R, are dirt cheap.
Your comment was innocent, but I know that Supper (the ROM hacker for this) does have an account here, and it can be discouraging to read negative comments since the community is pretty small. But anyway, it's no big deal.
On the general topic of how good the game is: Of course it's not the best beat em up on the system, but since we're (likely) not forking out $60 for it, there's at least some enjoyment to get out of it. It's always interesting (for me, at least) to play a game and see what kind of design choices were made and how it could be improved.
Yes, finally !!! I played this game a lot back then on my megadrive.
It's a solid beat em up and beat em up was one was my favorite genre at that time.
This game, Maou Renjishi (Mystical Fighter), TMNT, Bare Knuckle trilogy, and Golden Axe 1-2 (kinda dislike the third one, can't remember why).
What make this game unique and also the notable difference between megadrive and sufami version is that on the megadrive version each character has special move (that can be executed anytime).
This is why megadrive version is superior than sufami version.
I still remember Sailor Venus' special move control (the most powerful one) : Get closer to the enemy .... Up, down, front+punch
and Sailor Mars : Down, forward, up+punch.
Other character has other control, I can't remember how, but I'm sure you could found them in gamefaqs.
It's always nice to have a translation from a japanese game. Most non-english speakers learn at least some english organically from videogames, movies, music in the western hemisphere, but japanese is something you don't learn unless you study, so while playing japan language games, text on screen is pretty much lost to most of us. Thank you very much.
