Does this extend to actually modding the console, though?
While I am all for more consumer power, I can already picture some jackass opening up his Xbox to mod it, completely fucking it up, and then demanding that MS repair it.
As the warranty is now, it doesn't cover repair/replacement if the owner obviously fucked the console up in some way, regardless of the sticker.
I've never had a problem with warranty.
So now Sony is the first to honor this. MS and Nintendo have yet to respond.
