I disagree.
There's basically no room today for something like A-10 Cuba!, Immercenary, Blood, The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes, Bio-Hazard Battle, etc.
With the normalization of platforms comes the normalization of genres and the target audience.
There's also a sterilization of games' aesthetics which makes most of them look and sound very similar IMO.
I was referring to stuff such as Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed.
