Oh I know! The amount of 'straight' guys who use gay dating apps behind their girlfriend's/wife's back these days is a real eye opener. They describe themselves as either curious or bi-curious. Just randomly happened upon this thread, and probably won't post in the off-topic section again (no offense, doesn't too nice around here), but I thought I'd point out that Lovecraft literally supported Hitler, and the stuff that "would be considered offensive" by the namby-pamby SJW modern audience you're probably insinuating was actually racist as fuck. I borrowed a collection of Lovecraft short stories from the library years ago which included some of his private correspondence (publishing letters is a thing with noted old-timey writers, as you may know). In a letter to his future wife, he explained that Hitler was great and that "racial purity" was the noblest pursuit available to man, but reassured her that he was fine with her being Jewish, because she was a woman and it didn't count (women aren't really people, you understand). So yeah, even by the standards of the time, dude was quite literally into fascism. He's also a terrible hack who rewrote the exact same story of unimaginable horrors driving people insane again and again, but that's a different matter.:)

Interesting stuff. I did not know that about Lovecraft's personal political and racial beliefs. As for his stories, yes I quite agree that once you've read one of his 'Cthulhu Mythos' stories, you've pretty much read them all. An ancient unimaginable evil that humans can't possibly comprehend without losing our minds and going insane. I wouldn't call Lovecraft a one trick pony, he was far too imaginative and intelligent to be labeled as such, but most of his stories certainly followed an extremely similar theme and narrative.

I just read through this thread and the one thought that came across my mind was " WOW some people actually wish Hitler and the Nazis had won the war" I think about what would happen to the people that are protected by the freedoms we have today thanks to the brave Allied soldiers during WW2. People with disabilities, members of the LBGQ community, people of the Jewish religion and a whole lot of others were all persecuted and massacred by Hitler and the Nazis and it seems some in here wished that he and his kind had conquered the world. Not the kind of thing I expected to read on a video game forum, but hey, whatever.
