Best Treasure game?

Easy question: what's your favourite Treasure game for Mega Drive, and optionally, why? :)

I choose Dynamite Headdy.

While most Treasure games are awesome, I find Dynamite Headdy a bit more outstanding than the rest. There are so many levels, so many different challenges, so many power-ups, characters...

I hated the game back in the day because of how difficult it was, but once I finished it, it suddenly became my favourite Mega Drive game, although it was later surpassed by Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

I wish there was a sequel to this game. While there were so many great ideas on this one, I think there was room for new features for a sequel.

YuYu Hakusho for me. I love fighters, and whilst some from the 16-bit era can feel archaic (Fatal Fury, Mortal Kombat), some a bit dated (SF2, Fatal Fury 2), YuYu Hakusho plays not far from how a modern 2D fighter does in terms of speed and combos, and with Super Desperation moves as well. I would love to some day get three other people round to try the Battle Royale mode as it looks incredible.

While I love Gunstar Heroes just as much, I know more people will vote for it more so I'll give Alien Soldier an extra pair of helping hands. It's technically and aesthetically brilliant, fun, intense and, which is a good thing, quite a challenge!

Another vote for Alien Soldier here. I like all of Treasure's MD output, but this game speaks to my sensibilities as an action gamer the most with it's original and technical take on the run 'n gun genre. As an aside, Dynamite Headdy is probably my least favourite. I prefer Mcdonald's Treasure Land Adventure of the two pure platformers for whatever reason (I concede DH is the objectively better game, however).

R. MC Donald's Treasure Land for me, I love Big Macs and MC Flurry's with strawberry sauce.

My vote was for Gunstar Heroes, but YuYu Hakusho is astounding too. In 3rd place I'd put Light Crusader, simply for being something different from their usual output.

Dynamite Headdy. The most creative.

It breaks my heart not to vote headdy, but a fan of 2 Players games, I just had to be honest and vote for Gunstar which has probably amassed more gameplay hours than the rest combined at my home :love:

I'd say Yu yu Hakusho, the idea of a 4-players fighter in the MD was pretty cool. The platformers were a bit too gimmicky for my tastes and the run 'n guns are fine but prefer Contra and Slug for that.

This would be a tough one, Gunstar, Headdy and Alien Soldier are all good capturing a sense of epicness, wackiness and sci-fi respectively.

Alien Soldier. To me is the culmination of the run and gun. Very very close is Dynamite Headdy. Both are so creative and so well done, and so fun, I can play both of them anyday, anytime.

I like Light Crusader, but yeah, it's not quite at the level of polish I'd like.

Contra Hard Corps is a Konami game, not a Treasure game right?
I know Treasure are ex-employees from Konami but...
