Your favorite original Xbox games

This one is easy for me as next to Dreamcast this was my fave system of the 6th generation of consoles.


My No 1 fave game is Jet Set Radio Future. Best in the series IMO and my fave game on the system. I own the CD OST and listen to it all the time. Tho yes I hate the Birthday cake song. I often just pick this up and play for an hour as I love the world so much.

After that my list has no real order. Just JSRF is my clear Number one.

So in no real order rest of my faves on Xbox

I like the OG Xbox above that of the Dreamcast. It always felt like a DC 2 to me and its the console that got the best out of SEGA to this day as a 3rd party imo

I always felt like it was DC 1.5 but Xbox 360 was the true Dreamcast 2. Dang, I wish that 1up article was still around that compared their launches. I can't even find the archive. :(

I need to try out KOTOR 2 our with the Xbox 360. I’m pretty sure it won’t run well at all, if it even does, with the Power PC hardware.

Well I guess NA@MI II is what would have been the DC II and I always felt the XBox was the closest to that, but anway...

I got an Xbox early on for DOA3 and it was cool, but like most new consoles I eventually sold or traded it after it wasn't getting enough use.

I got one again after a friemd forced me to learn Halo 2 and it led to weekly Halo night playing split-screen on my 100" projector screen, often with a linked system hosting another 4 players on my regular TV.

The other games that got the most play time include:

DOA Ultimate -better looking and playing than DOA4.
Psychonauts
PSO
Doom 3
Jet Set Future
Burnout Revenge

Star Wars BattleFront 1&2, Battlefield 2 and Call of Duty 3 were my online Jams back in the day.

Full Spectrum Warrior was stunning too, one of the best looking game around at the time: it also had the voice of Professor K from Jet Set Radio too :)

Toejam and Earl 3 mission to earth. I have it. Yet to play it. My xbox was a halo machine.

My xbox is a media player, I watched Heathcliff on there the other night.

KotOR is my favorite and I suppose Gladius and Timesplitters: Future Perfect might round out my top 3....even if I technically mostly played them on GC. TS at least has 16 player system link on Xbox, so that definitely elevates that version for me (or would if I'd bother to get some more hardware).

Aside from KotOR, the 3 games that left the biggest impression on me at that time were Dead or Alive 3, Halo: CE, and Gun Valkyrie...even though it was just the demo, and I sucked at it... it still made me want an Xbox. Except I ended up getting a GC and it was several years before I finally got my own Xbox, but it's the thought that counts.
