The games are not even on the disc. I canceled mine for the same reason.
Never pay for DRM-locked games without a physical release. It won't really change how the industry operates, as there will always be millions of idiots to drown out your efforts, but it will save you the frustration of not being able to play your games in the future.
The day that console games go completely DRM is the day I game on PC exclusively.
This could be another factor to the cancelled pre-orders: https://www.instagram.com/p/BqFr6IIh...on_share_sheet
I don't play games as much as I used to. Whenever I do it's on PC, since I don't own any modern consoles.
I was excited for the Spyro trilogy, even though I wouldn't really get to play it. I was still happy to see the original Spyro games get some love. I played the PS1 games as a kid, and still sometimes revisit them. Only shipping 1/3 of the trilogy on the disk is total shit though. Sure hope you don't have slow internet or live with data caps. What if you buy the game disc used years from now after the download servers are offline?
I thought this was old news though? Are people just now cancelling their pre-orders?
DRM is like a corrupted wedding VHS.
1/3 rd of this game is physical 33.333 % is on the disc and 2/3rd is digital 66.67 % So I will buy the game 1/3 of the retail price. $26.66 cents is the most I will pay for a used physical copy.
So if I pay activision they only get paid for the work they did for a physical copy.
Keep in mind that the other 2 games likely contain an unlock code in the package to DL them from the web. So with a used copy you are likely only going to be able to play the first game anyway since the codes would have already been used up by the previous owner. I lucked out once with a copy of a game I bought used that still had the paper inside it for the code to get extra weapons and such and it hadn't been used! I was amazed by that as when I get a game that includes download extras, I pretty much do that immediately upon opening the game.
It's not a voucher code, its patches on the disc. So you will still have all 3 games if you buy the trilogy used.
You will just lose access to download the patches when they drop support in the future.
Yeah ok fuck this. It was fine for Crash but not Spyro? Fucking idiots...
You guys are overreacting right now. Maybe they'll put the stuff on disc via patch, once criticism grows more.
Then I will buy it. I am saddened that I can't play my favorite games remade. I mean I can but I'd be supporting a publishers bad business ethics. I want to support toys for Bob. Once they give me all the content on disc I will buy it right away.
I was at the midnight release for crashbandicoot n sane trilogy.
This was Crash bandicoot N sane trilogy midnight release at gamestop last year. This year Spyro released 9pm on the 12th no midnight release. I did not attend since I wasn't supporting this physical copy.

Well..we have had to deal with this in the PC side of things for at least a decade now I think? I know when I bought Fallout 4 it was nothing more than a CD with a steam installer on it and a redemption code on paper in the actual case. The Homeworld collectors edition with the ship model was just a slip of paper with a redemption code as well.
