I would like to see this develope into its own game , perhaps drop the papi characters and also the watermelon ties and take it self more seriously as a legit beat em up in its own right. Looking Good

No way! Having Papi in a beat em up to get a cartridge from Fonzie is what makes it so cool. I hope it includes the French nightclub, the MMA guys and a final showdown at the Magical Game Factory. If you replaced all that with generic characters it wouldn't be as much fun.
Pretty much every game Vetea has made has involved Papi (and sometimes Mami) so dropping that would be silly. It's Vetea's series after all.

I just felt the character didn't fit if it was made into a serious beatemup using the same engine. I guess im in the minority on wanting this.
Although I am impressed like everyone else with the polish shown so far, and it is looking to be an exciting project.
It looks very promising. I hope this makes it way into an actual release. Maybe make it more like a mini game with 3-4 levels to make it more realistically feasible and to be finished before Paprium (if that game ever gets finished) as the appeal will be less after that point.

As say Sik ( funny to say .. ^^ ) I follow my plan with my creation Papi Commando, as a Mario/ Sonic .. ;)
If you follow my precedent games, nothing is very serious, and I like to involve humor/fun in my creation .. So same with PapiRium.
There are nothing to compare with Paprium, again ... ^^

Hello everyone, I am here to announce that I officially take over the development of PapiRium. I am very honored and proud to have to work on this project.
I will follow at best the spirit and the ideas of Studio Vetea. For the moment, I must first rewrite the code to start from scratch for better readability, but I will keep the logic already developed to save time.
I want to say that my priority is the realization of IRENA on Mega Drive that I would like to finish well before 2020. As a result, the development of PapiRium should progress slowly, but I will do my best to demo you playable in a few months.
For information, know that I am "Shingo", the famous finger guy who held the precious top secret cartridge of Paprium.
I would come as often as possible to keep you informed of the progress of the project, but some can follow me on Twitter where I give a lot of information every day.

Great to know the project is still happening even if slower. I'm sure it will be finished before Paprium anyway :)
