And it's already more of a game than Paprium hahaha.
I'm loving the way the game is going, and the speed of development is impressive.
Yup. Not to mention Papi already has more personality than Tug (and whatever the other characters were called). He has a mission, to get his cartridge, and he has a bad guy to fight, Fonzie. I have no idea what direction the game will go in but you can already imagine the other levels including a French nightclub and the Watermelon Games factory, the MMA guys as a level boss, etc.
With Paprium, even after several years of development I couldn't remember if the game referred to a drug or the city. It takes place in the year 8A2? Did we run out of numbers and go into hex? Who are you fighting?
How's about that, the basics are actually functional to some extent! It's already head and shoulders above the Paprium demo shown at the party.

Papi Commando has his own story you know ... since 2012 !
Perhaps his design was too "8 bits" for a 16 bits console like the MD, but it's just another game with Papi Commando. :D
The Windows version of Papi Commando seems to have come out in 2014 (which means two years) so I'm not sure it really compares to Paprium?

Yes I talk about the first PC version, start in 2012, I dont share anything about, but in 2013 yes, in Developpez.com french website ( best 2013 game project, a award I win ) and laater on the MD.
This char is a legacy to my father, ex commando, still alive, who battle against a Cancer actually.
We try to make a demo level for now with the basis from Paprium, not give a jab to the original game. Fonzie knows this project, I send him some news about it.
We try to make it with respect, and dont steal any Paprium's sprite or background, all is make from scratch here. ;)
And, with experience, we can plan a fully original game yes.
For now, we practice, learn and show our work.
Only few hours per week, that poor .. The main work on this game style is really the graphics, sprite and animation. Code takes a minor part, important to manage the game, but minor in regard of Graphics work.
