Face Raiders?
If that’s the game, it actually is kind of fun, but pretty much just a tech demo for the the AR capabilities of the 3DS.
For some reason I was thinking there were a handful of SNES games loaded on that model.

Face Raiders, that’s it.
It just had the download code for the SNES game Super Mario Kart.
Picked up a protective case for my new 3DS XL.

Hit up a couple game shops yesterday with a buddy. Took advantage of a sale and a coupon and got some cool stuff for a great price. The Gen games with the wrecked labels are Granada and Uncharted Waters.

The scaling on the graphics in those Psykyo Collections is all out of wack, unfortunately, so the scanlines don't work properly. Just a heads up if you're a stickler for such things. The games seem to have healthy dose of input lag as well, something I haven't noticed to this degree in any other shooters this gen.

Gotta love $5 import mecha games. I know almost nothing about it.
Finally decided to scratch another off the big box list.

Supposed to be a Perona lite game which looks interesting to me. Not in the mood for an RPG atm tho. Played the first hour to test it and it seemed ok. Only got past the tutorial really so can't fully comment on the game yet.
This caught my eye at a local thrift store. In good shape. Picked it up for the equivalent of about $10. (150 ZAR).
"South African version" :p
15-pin connector.

@The Jackal Nice pickup!
What do you think of it so far?
Can't wait till my copy comes in the mail, I expect it on Tuesday at earliest.
It's a good one for PC since it's one of those games that has always had a decent following, so you get stuff like this: https://wiki.oni2.net/Anniversary_Edition
Just picked up a copy of a Japanese only game Ragnagard off the streets believe it or not, known in Japan as Shin-Oh-Ken (神凰拳 lit. "God Phoenix Fist"), is 2D arcade fighting game developed by System Vision and published by Saurus for the Neo Geo arcade, Neo Geo CD and Sega Saturn. The game's characters are all based on Shinto deities.
It tries really hard to be Killer instinct although it isn’t. I kind of like what they tried here but this is not a very good game. The only reason I got it because it was super cheap as it goes for $600-$1,200 on eBay and price charts have it around there as well. I was spooked as the PCB’s had two different color pin outs and after inspecting the cart it had some marks indicating it had been opened.
Turns out the board is legit and so are the chips so there was a good chance this was sent back to SNK at some point for repair and they used a different board.
I can’t say I recommend the game but it isn’t terrible, just not as good as it should be. It’s extremely hard and your opponents perform super desperation movies at will and their defense is so good that killing them fast is only reserved for expert players. Like all SNK games the depth is incredible and these types of games can be appreciated only after some serious practice as each character has specific moves and defenses that make not one more powerful than the other so it’s quite involved and a different style is needed to beat each character, spamming will get you killed right quick.

With a little help I finally finished a neat little Game Gear subset, the US Codemasters games! (AKA "those really weird looking Game Gear carts")
You probably notice that Fantastic Dizzy, unlike the rest of the games, doesn't have purple stripes which typically denote US versions. This seems to be the case for all copies, both Euro and US as far as I can tell, and similarly CJ Elephant from both regions has the purple stripes, where normally Euro copies just had a solid purple background.
This means the real standouts in terms of "US" copies are Cosmic Spacehead, Micro Machines, and the quite sought after Pete Sampras Tennis. The latter of which can be increasingly difficult to locate even for sale, let alone for a decent price nowadays. I'm happy to finally have all 5 in my collection.
I got 2 copies of Splatoon for $5 each at a Walmart in Durant Oklahoma. I was doing a little bit of work up there today.

Some recent Saturn purchases, including of course... Black Fire. Just kidding, Burning freaking Rangers! Damn that set me back a lot.
What will make it particularly memorable buying this game, was the fact that as it was arriving in the mail, my neighbors had accidentally set their yard on fire! So the real burning rangers were here, along side the game.
That is one of the most beautiful posts ever. That is hotness. Congrats on Burning Rangers esp!
I've been grabbing some real deals on Wii U stuff myself, a $5 Splatoon is a great price though!
I've actually been holding off on picking up most of the first party Wii U games since they're still relatively pricey, the majority of the rest of the library is pretty cheap. I think Devil's Third is the most expensive at around $60 for it which is pretty much just the retail price.
I can't help but imagine that Gundam Breaker is actually a game series about some kids with a bunch of Gundam models, and the goal of each game is to prevent their moms from playing with the models and breaking them.
Added another big box...I'm annoyed by how crushed this "good" condition box is (my little pic doesn't tell the whole story), but these also don't seem to show up on eBay all that often.

Lol well, the first half you got right it is kids playing with Gundam models in a virtual world. Like Gundam amiibo you can mix and match parts like an Armored Core plus paint them. The game plays like a hack n slash. Not a Warriors game tho.
They had 3 of these last week. I got the last one.

I think that game is getting a remake on Switch. Might be why.
This was the launch edition that came with the extras.
Ebay stuff:
Genesis:
Roadblasters
SNES/SFC:
Total Carnage
Crayon Shin Chan
Crayon Shin Chan 2
Magical Taruruto-kun
Go Go Ackman 1
Go Go Ackman 2
Go Go Ackman 3
Rockman X2
Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius
PS 2:
SVC Chaos JP version, because the last time I tried getting it around Christmas, I got sent the wrong game, got a refund, bought a couple Gameboy SNK fighters (KoF 96, Sam Spirits 3)
PS:
Puchi Carat, Japan version, only took a decade or so to get one from a US seller
Famicom:
Fudou Myuouo Den, because Demon Sword isn't cutting it when a big chunk of the game was cut for US release
Magical Taruruto-kun 1
Just picked up these in preparation of the Analogue Mega SG which should arrive any day now. Haven't tried them on original hardware yet, but I really only got them for the Mega SG which I plan on keeping upstairs in the living room anyway (not downstairs in the game room).
First impressions are that the shape feels natural in my hands, and the dpad feels awesome, and has a nice texture. The buttons are the right size, and placed well, but click a bit differently than an original 6 button and feel kind of cheap. And the entire controller itself feels very light, a bit too light for my taste really. But if they perform as well as everyone says, that's all that really matters to me. And it'll be convenient using wireless pads in the living room.

Finally, after 5 years have a physical of Child of Light. Not interested in the other game. Also Ken amiibo. See his belt. Ken and Ryo amiibo are designed so they face one another with the wind blowing in the correct direction for both figures. Ken also taunting Ryo with that finger.
3 more big boxes. Wasn't sure Beyond Good and Evil even existed when I started searching a couple years ago, so it's nice to finally have confirmation. I probably could've just asked around, but where's the fun in that?
