At some point, they are supposed to come to Switch. Julian Eggebrecht said a year or 2 ago. Maybe vaporware so I guess it still counts for this thread lol. Said they would release the full version that never got released. That was 2 years ago so seems it just will never happen.Quote:

It counts as in how long it took to release, yes. As I said it just wasn't well known but I was only counting how long it took for the game to release. Having just the idea doesn't really count tho if no work was actually done. Dragon's Crown entered development on Dreamcast. May have not gotten very far but they went so far as to design the characters and have final designs and organize a dev team. They just couldn't find a publisher so it was canceled.
I don't even remember ever reading about City Heroes, but it looks fantastic. A post from 2010 by me on these very forums betray my own memories though. Still surprised a demo cart hasn't surfaced anywhere, considering they found Bio Force Ape, of all things.
Battlefront 3 was actually originally going to be developed by Free Radical, the same people behind Timesplitters 1 and 2, very solid games in their own right. I played the 1930s Chicago level in Timesplitters 2 over and over and over again. Couldn't get enough of it.Quote:

So it's basically a total unknown what a 3rd chapter would be.
Since both Ecco and the Queen have the powers of time-travel, though, anything would be possible for a third chapter.
I just think it probably would have gotten a bit too crazy lol. Like maybe Ecco would chase the Queen around in different time periods or something lol.
Speaking about Ecco, its a shame that the sequel on the DC got greenlight, some more for me would be
Alan Wake II - Xbox 360.
Dead Phoenix - GameCube. Was really looking forward to this since it was being handled by the director of Code Veronica.
Ninja - Sega Saturn. Would have been nice to had seen the Saturn game, which was said to be looking and running amazing
Tomb Raider II - Sega Saturn. Would have been nice to the Saturn version, since the Saturn team said they would doing good things with the then new SG-L 2.1

Although, now that I typed it out, that sounds like it could be really cool, if it was done right.
One thing we can probably say for sure, is that the 32x project would have led to very unique results, most likely.
(Unless they realized that they should just be porting Ecco PC onto the 32x, and it would have been great. Instead of trying to reinvent the series with blocky 3D for the 32x, which is what I assume they would have done, lol.)
...As it turned out, the third Ecco game was never really started, neither for the MD nor for the 32x.
The only thing that exists for 32x is that beautiful FMV title-screen for an Ecco game, over a rippling ocean. It's lovely and is literally the only thing ever made for 32x Ecco.
Then the series was left alone for a few years until the Dreamcast allowed for near photorealistic graphics of nature. (And so the series never had to deal with any awkward 3D on any console, like 32x, or Saturn, etc.)
So it's probably for the best that Ecco avoided those more awkward years of early 3D, and the DC game allows the graphics and gameplay to be unencumbered by whatever limitations would have been grappled with on the previous few yrs of consoles.
The DC game is also probably almost as good as it could have been. (As a 3D retelling of the first 2 main games on MD.)
There are scraps of a DC sequel that can be played but I think there's not much to see...
Metroid Prime 4 is still pretty fresh ;)
I know it's just being delayed, but starting development again from scratch essentially means that whatever was done so far is being scrapped.
