Wasn't that the show about Internet vigilantes looking to find and arrest paedophiles?
That show kind of pissed me off. I'm tired of all the hype and sensationalism about: a) pedophilia/molestation; b) the dangers of the internet. Enough already.
I'm also getting sick of hearing about pedophilia too. It seems society is at a loss on how to deal with people with these sort of problems.
Where I live, they are just stuffed into hotels (and people complain about it), and/or must have treatment and a facility a couple hours away for a while.
I worked with some chick who was a registered sex offender, and where I work, no one was notified, including me. I wasn't a minor at the time, but I worked with quite a few minors. I don't know the managers knew, but we all found out once a coworker looked at the registry online..
Agreed, it is a strange topic though. People are very quick to say lets burn these SOBs on thestake, but you know in the times before modern civilization (the majority of man's existence), natural man in the wild shit, people did not live to be like 50, and man would prowl around looking for young fertile females at what would probably today be deemed far too young of an age. The dominant males would usually be older. Im not saying predators should be allowed to go after young girls etc, but its just that todays societies standards can run counter to people's natural instickts. I think living indoors away from the real world, and people's obsession with material things is creating huge imbalances in people today. Youve got girls trying to look older at increasingly younger ages, mixed with the fact there are a lot of pervs out there. I work with people with mental illnesses, so IDK, I guess I just don't like it when people take joy in trying to entrap these potential sex offenders. There are definitly predators out there, I just don't like the show or people who can only see things in black and white. These predators are evil scum etc. But make no mistake I think children should be protected.Quote:

It's nice that they're going after pedophiles and all but I always get the feeling the TV news is trying to demonize the Internet to try and slow down inevitably being overtaken by it. That being said the show was pretty funny, and despite what NBC says they were probably going for that.
