Cd-I complete with Zelda. Your dreams of owning the ultimate doorstop are over!

Time to clear some space. This is a model Cdi550 Cd-I which means the digital video cartridge is built into the system. The whole lot includes one shiny Magnavox Cd-I, Includes beat up box with instructions in good shape, 2 controllers, ac, and rf ( has standard composite av out), Zelda The Wand of Gamelon, Link Faces of Evil, Escape from Cyber City, Space Ace and Tetris. $100

I wonder how many diehard Nintendo fanboys have bought this system and its Mario and Zelda games just to complete their collections of those franchises. I also wonder why they chose to have three buttons in a row on the controller just like on the first Mega Drive pad, I hear many people hate that.

I never even knew Mario came out on the CD-I even though it does not surprise me.

Demonic Weasel: That was a bit harsh. From as far as I read here, Iron Lizard is not "conning" anyone. He simply said that eBay would probably be a better try because eBay is known for having it's buyers respond at times to anything that says "RARE OMG LOOK HERE!!!" and buy it on the spot. He offered it here first because he knows us and thought someone here would buy it.

Is $100 a bit steep, I've already said that it was before, but it's not my CD-I so I don't make that decision. Is he trying to rip us off? I know from personal experience that he is a legit seller, who needs to make some money and clear up some space.

If I saw a con, or if any other Mod did, Iron Lizard would've been Thwacked already.

No worries at all mate. If it is region locked I'll just stick to US games. I'm really only after the FMV light gun games anyway...and a light gun.

That definitely is the ultimate doorstop!

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine's father was getting rid of some old office equipment his company had in storage, and they happened to have a couple of professional model CD-I systems made by a company called Digital Video Systems (DVS) who was one of the licensed manufacturers of the hardware. It was free and came with a beat-up old box, so I took it off his hands. It came with a standard remote, was the size of a VCR with a built in power cable, was composite only, but it works really well for both games and playing VCDs and the copy of Wand of Ghamelon I bought previously at a pawn shop complete for $3 back in like 2000 never played more sucky. I still want to get the Faces of Evil, Zelda's Adventure, and Hotel Mario eventually just for the sake of having them even if they're mediocre at best. I doubt I would pay more than $20 for a CD-I unit, but congrats to the Aussie who purchased one of the worst consoles ever made! :p

I've got a strange fascination with rare and obscure video game systems. And this one seems top of the list. I don't think it was released in Australia, and if I decide I don't want it, I reckon I could at least get my money back on ebay.
