Ok.
Last 2 WIPs before I make my own thread somewhere.

So I made a thread over on OCRemix here https://ocremix.org/community/topic/...ngement-album/
If you have an account there and have any feedback to share, i'd appreciate it. (There is a new WIP for Bracky News and a new WIP for the song "Mystery")
I'm going to focus on making the music for now before trying to either find a hacker or figure out myself (Which will end terribly i'm sure) how to add MegaDrive+ support to Phantasy Star II for final release. When I need someone to help with that I think i'll make a thread here or on Romhacking.
Something I've been thinking about for no reason other than intellectual curiosity: Would it be possible to do an MD+ update to Joe Montana Sports Talk Football and instead of the robot Stephan Hawking voice calling the plays, maybe have decent quality voiceovers instead? I'm sure some of the more famous commentators have enough existing material if someone wanted to piece that together, or even just record new lines so that they sound good.
Also, a message to Joe. Your like for the MD+ of Strider seems to no longer be working. Do you have an alternate link?
You'd need to fit that within the 99 track limit, so I'm not sure how feasible it'd be (aside from higher quality voices). How many commentator samples does the game have? (since you're probably going to want more than that to make it sound good)
Alternatively you could turn it into a CD game and stream in speech as needed, although at that point we're beyond the scope of MD+ (it'd probably still be Mega SD specific simply because of seek times — you probably need an instantaneous "drive" without seek times to make it work).
I tried ys and strider patches but they would just show the cd player. maybe i did something wrong.
sonic 1 cd booted but the game when selecting CDDA sounds like KSCHHHHHHHHHHH when first stage starts. :D
Did GameSack ever finish Shadow of the Beast?
Just wanted to give a big thanks. I tried to patch a .bin rom I found of the USA version but that didn't work. From the title my guess is that the .md file you got was from the now mostly defunct emuparadise. I did find a copy on edgeemu and that file worked when patched. I do wish the heavier soundtrack from the Turbo Grafx CD version was used instead of the PSP version but beggars can't be picky so thanks!
Anyone able to get the screenshot and genre info to work in the cart's OSD? I've been trying all night with no joy whatsoever. All the instructions seem a little vague to me, and I just can't figure it out... :daze:
I've downloaded the software and followed all instructions I can find, but nothing seems to be working out for me. I'm sure it must be something simple, like I'm misnaming something or putting a file in the wrong folder or something... Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm a Windows 7 luddite if that's an issue.
EDIT - Sorted: I found another guide, or rather read the first one more thoroughly *facepalm*

Sorry for the double post here, but I have a question: I have Pier Solar working with the CD image (a burned copy of my own disc) on this cart. I also have the Sonic hack from Evanesco that allows mode 1 audio to be used from a CD.
I have used WAV files of some music I own (from the Chemical Brothers as it happens) and made an ISO / CUE; I can get the whole shebang to run in Kega very nicely, but not on the MSD cart. Any ideas?
:daze:
FYI: krikzz has released his MCD driver code. It's recommended all new MD CD audio hacks use it instead of MD+.
MD+ is exclusive to TO's MegaSD. Meanwhile krikzz's alternative works on both carts, real Mega CD hardware, emulators, and even Mister FPGA.
When I play the MD+ games on my Mega SG, the sound is really low or almost gone. Is that normal? I love the music, but I do want sound effects!
Did you enable external cartridge audio? Is there a volume adjustment in the Mega SG options? (I forget). The sound effects should always be there.
I just wish Krikzz's alternative was as robust as MD+. It is not. No seamless looping which is pretty lame. Everything I personally made for MD+ had seamless looping in mind, and breaks without it. Once the community said they preferred Krikzz's inferior version, I lost all interest in making MD+ stuff or even using it. At least SD2SNES/FX Pak Pro is a standard thing (and has seamless looping). TO's MD+ is open source (according to them) so Krikzz just chose not to support it.Quote:
