They also said the PSX could handle 500,000 polygons LOL.

GTA V has an awesome single player campaign. It's miles deeper than an GTA game before it, including IV. I liked it so much, I ended up trading in my PS3 copy for a PS4 version, after I got the PS4. I later got the game for the PC. I've never played the online part of GTA V.

It wasn't a simple remaster for the PS4 or Xbone. They redid graphics assests and added additional details that the PS3/360 hardware couldn't handle.
I know. Just Sony at that time liked to brainwash people into thinking it would do that in-game. How they sold their shit. As mentioned they claimed it could do Toy Story. Also I pretty much said that in the post you quoted.
You've seen me do the research. The Dreamcast doing 3 million PPS is insanely accurate, in fact as early as mid-2001, Giga Wing 2 would max out at 3 million PPS. Its the same with the GameCube's 6-12 million PPS, we've seen games hit these numbers.
Sony deserved to win the 6th gen, but there were a few aspects where they didn't do things fair and square.
This is what the first Tokyo Xtreme Racer runs at. Its quite a bit different than any PS1 game I'd say.
I can't agree. The single player in GTA IV felt like it had so much more effort put into it, theres so much more tasks and activities to do. And with GTA V, it feels like you're playing a single player campaign in a game world designed for multiplayer. The game world feels like a GTA version of COD, this big circular map with a battle area and war bunkers in the countryside.
It COULD do 75m polys in-game, though. But it wouldn't be a really good looking game since it would have nothing but, like, 4x4x4 opaque untextured triangles with no special effects involved. Maybe it could make for an interesting audio visualization program?
The toy story thing was just marketing bullshit, not any different from Blast Processing.
Not at all. You could fly a helicopter anywhere over the massive map, or steal a jet fighter from an airbase. You also had a storyline for Franklin, Trevor or Micheal in V, while IV was all about Nico. Everything in IV was about driving cars, delivering packages and shooting people. It had very little beyond that, unless you wanted to play Virtual Pool, bowling or Darts. The online part if IV was all in self contained arenas as well.
I've been gaming since 1984 and been so used to console makers hyping up their systems, using theoretical limits, rather than in-game limits with AI and player control Ect. My main issue with SONY is their fake demo's and how they seem to be able to get away with fake demo's, horrible systems to develop for, spin with regards to SONY PS2 Online plains. It's hard to beat SONY or 3DO for sheer spin and lies
But when you're number one, you can get away with it.
The multiplayer was nothing more than team death match using various levels from the game. The coolest one was the airport, where you could have one person driving, while the other is shooting from the passenger seat. There were no online missions like V. Actually, I take it back that I didn’t play V online. I seem to remember someone chasing me and trying to blow up my car. I got out of my car and sniper shot them.
I think that the only difference between IV and V is that IV got single player DLC and V did not, but IV had a much smaller world to explore. And besides, the DLC for IV wasn’t all that great. I never did finish the Lost and Damned, because all of the missions were lame, and I never got to the Ballad of Gay Tony because of that. The team at GTA V obviously took a jab at Lost and Damned, when they made a mission where Trevor destroyed the trailer court that the gang was living in and Trevor stomped the head (killed) of the main character you played in that expansion.
Yeah, I hate Trevor’s character, because he was an all-around A-hole, but there were moments where he cracked me up. There was one moment (I’ve never been able to duplicate) where he stole a car and the radio was playing chick music. Trevor started cussing and change the radio to a hard rock station.
That was spot on Trevor! 😂
