The C-64 version was awesome. It was one of my most played arcade conversions on the computer, because it was incredibly hard to complete.
I remember playing Spy Hunter when I was a kid in the 80s. A long time ago there was a convenience store with a laundry mat next to it and Spy Hunter was one of the two games I played there. The other was Yie Are Kung Fu now that I think about it. I used to have to walk up a long steep hill to get to that store after school but I loved it.
Another great video. I had a version of it at the time and I loved it, sadly it was a bit of shock to play the arcade version many years later and realise just how bad my home version was.
There used to be a version of spy hunter hidden in Microsoft Excel, sadly they had to stop hiding the games in MS Office.
The Apple II version most definitely does include the water sections. You must not have played far enough through to reach them. I played this conversion often as a child, and occasionally still make time for it these days. It's great fun.
