And how does this make you feel?

I finally sold my 32X and collection. WHat a waste of space that thing is. Other than the DC its the only Sega system I really dislike. I will keep my 3DO, however, for the Amiga ports alone the 3DO beats out the 32X.
The Jaguar sucks the most, the MOST.
You haven't played many of the later sonic games then I imagine, SA1 has some great levels in it. How anyone can not like the DC is beyond me, theres so many great games, surely one or two will appeal? ReZ, Space Channel 5, House of the Dead 2, MSR, Shenmue, Soul Calibur, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Tennis etc. if you don't like any of those, then your taste in games is questionable :?
Taste is never questionable. Asking why someone likes or dislikes something is pointless. I don't like the DC and I'll never be able to justify that to someone who does, so end of discussion. I don't dislike it horribly and I did come to enjoy some of it's games as I said I was wrong about it, I used to HATE the DC. It's okay, but not worth owning and taking up space anymore.
The Dreamcast and the Mega Drive were far and away the best Sega consoles, the only bad thing I could say about the DC is the slightly iffy controller design, other than that it was an amazing console, especially when you consider it's 300 strong games library from only a year and half of lifespan.
If I absolutely had to get rid of my Sega consoles then the first to go would be the Master System, then in quick sucession after that the Saturn, there is a massive gulf between those two and the MD and DC, I would have to be in very serious financial straits before I would even consider parting with those two consoles.
Dreamcast for the win! I can't believe there were DC haters out there <_<.
Sure, many weren't exact fans - but haters? DC was badass. The Saturn was great for it's 2D, but its 3D sucked ass. More so than the PS1 3D, which was already sucking ass in the 3D department most of the time. DC rectified the 3D situation. DC>Saturn>Genesis>SMS.
From a technology standpoint, sure.Quote:

The Dreamcast's online gaming alone, is far better than anything the 3DO had to offer. Just the fact that you could play Daytona online, made it worth owning a DC. Phantasy Star Online was probably the most fun I've ever had playing online with a console and Alien Front Online was pretty addicting as well.
Agetec made an outstanding arcade stick for DC and the 2-D fighters and shooters were pretty solid as well. I'd say Border Down is about as good as any shooter on the Saturn, though Layer Section is my all time favorite.
The DC isn't my favorite system (I'll always have soft spot for the Saturn) but I'd say I like it as much as the Genesis.
Nothing will beat out the Genesis for pure nostalgia and memories. I've played the Genesis non-stop from 1989 to now, since I was 3 years old and it can't possibly be anywhere but first for me.
The Saturn is a close second, being a huge fan of 2-D games and shooters the Saturn is the almost absolute perfect system for these types of games. The shooters alone are awesome. The imports/imported arcade ports make it almost number one for me. DC was bittersweet for me. I was still mad at Sega for abandoning the Saturn in favor of the DC and I felt like the DC had killed my Saturn.
It may sound stupid, but good system or not, it simply can't replace all the fun I've had with my Saturn. Also, I really don't find that the Saturn's 3-D graphics are so significantly inferior to the playstation that it makes a damn bit of difference between the two. I've played Resident Evil on both systems, own it for the Saturn and except for a few little things probably couldn't tell you the difference between the two off the top of my head. The Saturn's 3-D graphics are certainly powerful enough for the 3D games I do own. NighTs is an absolutely gorgeous game and it does the job.
I will admit, however, my Genesis/Sega CD has gotten more play than all my other systems combined. I sold the 32X and my collection because I felt, simply, that the best games I had for it were even better on the Saturn (Afterburner and Space Harrier) and the 32X is a total waste and pain in the arse.
I love my 3DO because I can still play Alone in the Dark w/o the hassle of DOS, I can play Cannon Fodder and Wolfenstein 3D and some other interesting games like Blade Force and Lost Eden. I stick by the 3DO because it is the only way I can feasibly play certain games that came out on many systems.
The 32X is simply voided by my Saturn as I have Mortal Kombat Trilogy which finally replaces the shit port of MK II for the Saturn, arcade perfect ports of Space Harrier and Afterburner II.
I do own a Jaguar, but I just picked it up at a thrift store for $9.99 in the box along with a copy of Tempest 2000 in the box for the simple reason of flipping it. I must admit that now that I have one I really underestimated how crappy this thing really is. Everything about it screams cheap, Cybermorph is a horrendous game and I have Tempest 2000 for the Saturn anyway...though it is noticeably inferior on the Saturn it still retains the excellent game play which is all that matters.
I had the same feeling. I eventually warmed to the Dreamcast, but I was resentful at first. I also really loathed how Sega didn't release any console games for almost 18 months. They practically forced me to get a Playstation, and then when Dreamcast came out, my Playstation was still pretty new to me and I was too busy with it to get into another new system.
Back in the day I used to quite like the Saturn, but then as time went on the more i learned about the console the lower my opinion of it became, my opinion of it is is pretty low now, it most certainly deserved to die on it's arse like it did. I if got rid of it the only games I would miss are the Capcom Fighting games and maybe Layer Section everything else I would just make do with the PS1 versions.
