Just curious, but how many people are working on this project?

This screenshot reminds me Turtles IV in Time (SNES) with the boss you have to kill with grabbed ennemies flying in the air (futuristic levels).
^The style of this game strongly reminds me of Pulseman. Man this game had so much to offer.

Also reminiscent to the boss rush level from Gunstar Heroes, amazing stuff.
What a childish reaction.
Do you really think you shouldn't receive any criticism? Really?
This is a crowd funded project, so there's no need to go nuts when you receive negative feedback from one of your investors and/or members of the Sega-16 community.
Also, I've never said anything about Project Y's development being an easy task or not and, actually, that's your problem not mine.
I'm entitled to give my opinion about the VERY LITTLE info you've given us regarding the actual development status of the game, be it positive or negative; you like it or not.
Had you released a demo/trailer video like you promised more than a month ago and we would be able to give you a better feedback about the graphics, but feels like you're not interested in it.
The artwork of this game does have a few issues for the shots I've seen, and I'm reporting those.
If you'll ignore/laugh at them or get angry/cry due to that, again, is your problem not mine.
It's interesting, though, to notice that none of you from WM quoted my posts when I tried to defend the use of vertical dithering against the criticism of other members.
And, you, XGoldenboyX, seem to think that valid feedback is positive feedback; sadly.
Finally, this was the input I got from Zebbe 32 months ago, when MGF was launched and Project Y began to be discussed:
My opinion is that the screenshots look fantastic.. about what I would expect from Watermelon. As an original investor in Watermelon and the original Pier Solar project I have learned that with Watermelon you just need a lot of patience. People were crying about Pier Solar for years before it finally came out - some people even cancelled their orders. Then it came out and was amazing. With Project Y I have conditioned myself to think the same way I did with Pier Solar. Be patient. Provide feedback. Wait. Wait. And wait some more. And in the end I will have an awesomely packaged truly magnificent of a Genesis game waiting for me in my mailbox that I will truly enjoy.
That said - we need a vote on the name of the game already! And yes a DEMO or at least some video footage at this point would be very nice. I feel like lately we investors have not had much a say in anything like we did in the beginning. I think it's going to be a truly great game but other than the couple screen shots we recently have gotten it's been quite quiet.
Throw us a bigger bone will ya? Maybe one with a little meat on it?
well thank you...
Alot of the visual look of this game is in part due to my artistic direction ; ) and Fonzie`s . We have worked close to give this game the look it needed to fallow and once you see the backgrounds, animations and programming savoir faire of Fonzie, I think you will be pleased.
Zebbe also has helped with the gameplay department and we also must thnk our animators that helped make this possible.
And not forgething the Sound department ( wich is amazing ) Tulio played a big part on this as well.
: )
I was quite honestly flabbergasted by the screenshots, a lot of them have this very discernible "neon glow" about them to the point of looking like pure visual eye candy
Can't wait to play it~
Can WM stop dancing around the topic and release some actual game play details and footage? This is bordering on ridiculous...
Also, easy on the comparisons to old games in regards to the Super Hylide, Zero Tolerance, Fantasia comments. It's easy to talk shit 20 years later when you have all this tech, libraries and examples to go off. Those teams did what they could, within there budget, with a much more limited knowledge of the hardware. Kids these days...
Well, sorry about that then (I do like ZT and SH btw.). I just wanted to say WM does more than just a game - hence the slogan "juicy video game development". We could have decided to not include five mini-games, over 200 unique items, around 20 full screen cutscenes and lots of sidequests on the biggest 16-bit cart ever, also including a soundtrack disc for the CD add-on. Project Y will impress in similar ways, rest assured.
But I'm still sure those teams behind the games I mentioned had much bigger budgets than WM and official dev kits, WM does not. /Kid four years younger than you.
No one questions your dedication, or the quality of your games. Calling out games that, in SH's instance are 24 f*cking years old, then defend the position by stating you added mini games, cut scenes, and a soundtrack, are PERFECT examples of how you're missing my point. None of those companies had the budget you think they had, the metric sh*tron of examples, and the hindsite that 20+ years of game dev have allowed modern developers that would result in the kinds of packages you're offering. Back then no one had the knowledge that people wanted external soundtracks, collector's edtions, or any of that, and again, 8-16 mb cart limits a were the norm.
Again no one questions WM 's commitment to quality, I just think the notion of comparing your dev environment and access to libraries and tech, to that of a medium-sized team in the early 90's is shortsighted and , yes, a common misconception held by young devs.
All's I'm sayin' is to have some class in your approach. And for f*ck's sake post some actual content. I'm amazed that you take advantage of all the other current game development techniques, but lag behind in regards to the great positive results that can come from transparency during development, which is surprising seeing as there's some crowd funding going on here...
I MUST AGREE with you on one specific point of view...I too have been mentioning the people responsible to show more content.. In the End decision isnt and wasnt mine.
It`s something i wished we had shown more, but decision comes from the first person responsible for the game at WM.
Secondly the reason we havent shown actual gameplayyet its because its under work/ polish and when we feel its good we will gladly show it to all. After all we all want a great game, so please be patient.
And to reasure some other comments, the special kind of things you wil get with this game will show you that we have been dedicated to make it special for you.
thanks !
