In this post-apocalyptic future, a pants shortage has stricken the once civilized world. Rule or be ruled, even with your trousers down.

I really don't have a problem with the name "Paprium". Especially when you factor in the game's catchphrase ... "Rule, be ruled ... or die!"

So basically what you're saying is, if John Waters made Streets of Rage he would of called it Paprium? Right?

Video games need to be more gay anyway.

Apologies if it's already been mentioned here, but the trailer lists the name in Japanese as "Megalopolis Paprium".

Also, fun stuff: I googled 'Paprium' in Japanese, and it actually means something... it's a combination of "papukin" and "terrarium". Papukin are large beetles kept as pets, and people build terreria for them called 'Paprium'. Pictures:

Fascinating stuff! So I guess we can expect a giant beetle in the game at some point?? :D

Since it's such a rare made-up word in Japanese, I'm sure it's just a coincidence! But it certainly sounds like a bit of a silly word in that language too...

Watch carefully the trailer, you can see a kind of insect monster... Maybe your theory is right ^^
