Happens once or twice a year for Intellivision and they're much greater of a jump in quality and/or techical feats than what we've been led to believe that Paprium is compared to commercially published Genesis games.
Take a look at these:
Stonix
Space Patrol
4-Tris
Piggy Bank
Christmas Carol
Sydney Hunter Shrines of Peril
Sydney Hunter Sacred Tribe
Lost Caves of Kroz
Ms Pac Man
D2K Special Edition
Pac Man Jr
Takeover
Land Battle
Copter Command
Go Sub
Princess Quest
Defender of the Crown
Boulder Dash
The Minstrel's Legend
Ghosts 'n Goblins style game with larger sprites than GnG for Genesis, massive sprite-based bosses who jump around the screen, a killer soundtrack and full screen cinematics:
I could make a list and name shame people but i do not want to crap on someone's work. Nes seems to be one of the biggest homebrew scenes, my point is alot of it is over saturated with mediocre games and ports of games, instead of really interesting games.
There are good and even great homebrew games for the system but if you are looking at it as a whole, a lot of uninspired titles exist. Some great looking games are never completed like this http://morphcat.de/superbatpuncher/
The Halloween 1985-1986 look amazing and the kickstarter for Twin dragons looks good. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...me-for-the-nes
So while not every title is bad, i have seen enough bad titles sell for full price and those games in my opinion are not a good value. I know i brought up content and while the nes does not have a ton of memory, you could do amazing things while bringing in good replay value.
Snes homebrew is only a handful of people at the moment, genesis homebrew has some of the most interesting ideas and while i am not a fan of platforming i do think Tanglewood is interesting. I am sure that title will be a good value for people who like platform games.
I know atari has had strong homebrew titles for years pushing limits but that is not my thing.
What would you like to see on the NES?
Pushing the limits you say?

Regular video updates btw. Even though it doesn't have a proper release date yet, considering the regular updates I don't think anyone has anything to worry about.

Only C64 game to run at high resolution with this many colors. Guess what it also had? Regular updates. The one guy working on it had to slow down for personal reasons, but released a cutdown 16k cartridge of the game, so people can enjoy it.

This one was actually, fully released. Checkout the insane parallax scrolling.
Those c64 games are beautiful!
Well we will have a dungeon crawler soon since the developer of Candelabra: Estoscerro started working on that game again.
I just want to see some rpg's, real action games and some well done mixed genres games. Most genre's are okay, i just want devs to take their time and really put everything in to something worth while, no more ports of games that have already been made.
...and I think the point that others were trying to make to you is that you're talking up Paprium like its some game that was made by Clockwork Tortoise or Treasure, that is going to do all sorts of fantastic tricks and "push the Genesis to its limits".
As of right now, Paprium is vaporware. It doesn't exist. And WM hasn't really showed ANYTHING to say otherwise. If it wasn't for the fact that Watermelon had put out a game previously, I would be saying that folks who paid for the game got fleeced. There are no updates, no videos of straight gameplay, no developer dialog with fans, nothing.
It's great that you're excited. But try to keep a little perspective.
It still bothers me this thread is stickied.
You are correct no limits have been pushed and i must be off my rocker.
Obviously we have not seen much and that criticism is valid but i trust XGoldenboyX and other members from the team.Quote:
80-MEG, +24 Levels, +5 Playable Characters!
Uncompromized 60fps advanced 16-bit visuals.

Having issues with Fonzie are valid but let's not forget other people are involved and i doubt this will not be released.
Everytime someone craps on the game it is not Fonzie seeing that but it is the other members that spent years of their lives on this title, we all are not happy about the lack of basic communication but remember other people put their life into this too.
Because we all live in America, right?
The workers need to rebel then and stop working for free...Quote:
