Funny, I thought you were meant to be the SEGA boy. I'm not actually Sonic biggest fan or think it's the best platform game around, even in the Mega Drive heyday. I enjoy them but not his biggest fan. You have enough to say when people find faults with games you like
Funny, how you need to go off running to metric; that's so typical of the modern gamer. I actually thought you were better than that, Boy was I wrong..
Genesis:
Pitfall the Mayan Adventure
Game Boy:
Batman
Batman Return of the Joker
SNES/SFC:
Super F1 Circuit Limited (SFC, came with the next game)
Nitro Punks Mightheads (SFC, AKA Rocky Rodent)
Kirby Super Deluxe (SFC)
Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SFC)
Tiny Toons Wacky Sports Challenge (SFC)
PS1:
Namco Museum 5 Japanese version
Puyo Puyo 4
Not too shabby!
I picked up Super Mario 3D Allstars for the Switch.
Honestly I think you both are huge SEGA fans even tho i recall you saying he was more of a Nintendo fanboy a few times.
I don't know about that. I don't know anyone else on these forums that has as much Sonic merchandise as you do. lolQuote:

Yeah and I've given him shit for that also.Quote:

He's not totally wrong on the metric scores. If anything they've saved me a ton of money from buying obvious lemons when it comes to games. I know while they're not 100% accurate,Quote:

It's a solid step in the right direction as to what to watch out for when it comes to crap & SE has indeed released a lot of crap recently. I wish it weren't true but yeah. They somehow for a long ass time forgot they were the company known for top quality RPGs.
It took the original Bravely Default & Octopath Traveler to make them remember that.
Other than the games I don't buy Sonic stuff, that's what my partner does. It's far harder for her to find anything to do with Panzer Dragoon or REZ in the shops. Like I said on this board many times I actually like Mario IV over any on the 2D Sonic games as well as Revenge of Shinobi and Quackshot.
She just gets Sonic because of SEGA, not because I'm his biggest fan
He always got enough to say if one finds fault with any games he likes, I'm sure he called me out on the poor remake for Panzer Dragoon or the rather lame remake for SOR IV. If one is going to call the finished game rubbish then it means a lot more if one has actually bought and played it, I sure you ever asked me if had the remake of Wonderboy once too . And metric scores? please... that sort of crap, is best reserved for the kids on resetera.Quote:

Like many found of with Sonic the movie, it's actually a lot better when you watch it for yourself and If you really want to save money and get to play games, get GamePass. Gamepass saved me from buying the pile of crap that is Outriders that's for sure...
There’s nothing wrong with Streets of Rage 4.
I don't mind, I'm picking it up. It looks like a game that I could enjoy, while most probably could not. Polish, innovation, missed opportunities, etc, mean squat me if I'm gonna be honest. I've enjoyed some pretty rough games. I've always said that it's more in a game's intent rather than it's execution that matters for me. Has nothing to do with who put it out. Where people throw doo-doo all over a game that has problems, I'm content to just shut the fuck up and play it, and see for myself if there's any enjoyment to be derived from the experience.
If this wasn't my whole philosophy, I wouldn't be stoked to have picked up....

My 3 recent 32x additions!
You know, that supposedly crappy SEGA add-on where all the games are trash and totally not worth anyone's time? Well, I'm really digging that thing right now, and I don't even think any of it has the GameSpot or IGN stamp of approval! I don't even think it's in their system, that's how much this stuff supposedly doesn't matter. But then it all comes back to the matter of opinion whether a game is any good or not, doesn't it?
I really need to pick up a copy of Afterburner for the 32X. Those 32x arcade ports are awesome!
You chose wisely. 3 awesome games there. Nice pickups.
Obviously Virtua Racing and After Burner are two of the system's best, but I think Metal Head is a pretty fun mech game. It has a lot of character and charm, sort of an 80s/90s sci-fi movie vibe.
I recall there was magazine talk back in the day about an Outrun port, but it never came. So many games in development got the plug pulled when they cancelled the 32x prematurely. I was not happy with Sega at the time.
Exactly this is it. There are a huge number of games that I own and love that have either reviewed poorly or been dismissed by users of the systems, more when it comes to some of the weird games that Japanese developers loved to make.
I can remember Layered Section/Galactic Attack not getting great reviews and yet its one of the best shooters and most balanced game around. Spikeout was trashed on the XBox and yet I had ace fun with that title online back in the day. I know D2 got issues, but the overall experience just makes it all worthwhile.
Star Wars Arcade is my fav 32X title
I think Meta is a pile of shit. I just did that to rile him up a little. I did play the demo on PS4 and watched some vids and video reviews. Pretty convinced what I played and what I have seen is a good enough representation to call this game garbage. Look I don't need to watch more than 2 minutes of 2019's Robowoman to know it's shit lol.
