I think there's two email lists. One for "investors" and the other for everyone else who ordered.
The investors email list gets the more angry emails where Fonzie talks about lawsuits, protests etc.

I got both emails too.
I got the 'Soon back' email, and then unsubscribed ftom the mailing list. I feel sorry for all those who haven't got their copy yet.
.....the saga continues!!! :D
...aaaand the kickstarter is live. I now want the updated Paprium version with the tweaks/bugfixes backported to it from the Steam version
I'm confused is this going to help get shipped to people quicker?

At least he's finally being honest about running a ponzi scheme.
Anyone who buys in now deserves to lose their money.
I can't believe this is allowed on kickstarter now. The whole point of the MGF grift was because kickstarter was thought to have had some level of accountability.
Sorry but I have to disagree on that. MGF was a method we crated to allow the people backing the project to help decide the guidelines to the game as the project was still being created. Whatever happened that caused delays later is another story. MGF creation has nothing to do with trying to skip Kickstarter.
Well, look on the bright side, Paprium exists. Nobody is waiting for an uncertain game anymore, the game exists and it's great.
As for the Kickstarter campaign, it's one of the craziest things I've seen this year, Fonzie looks like he came out of the Snatch movie or reminds me of Vinnie Vincent like a friend reminded me.
People in their right mind shouldn't buy Paprium, I don't recommend it, but I'm going to buy it because I don't have a conscience and because I think the Fonzie is really cool.
Remembering here many criticize the Fonzie and with good reason the after-sales was horrible, but for years these same people buy products from Nintendo, Activision and etc., broken products, overpriced and with horrible after-sales.
$99k already. I am shocked.
I FINALLY got an e-mail from the "honorate" villain and he now expects me to wait for who knows how long (another 10 years!?), for the "updated" edition along with a free manga.
So now he's got a ridiculous "kicstarter" started and already blind gullible fools have backed this new scam of his, including two who threw their money at the "MEGAPOPE". If only I could see their faces when they realize what they've gotten themselves into.
a third of the goal on its first day with 59 days remaining, lol here at Sega-16 we live in a parallel universe where we think everybody hates Fonzie and his game and PR methods but the hard truth is we are niche EVEN in the MD retro community, as you can see with those figures.
He said himself (in a recent French itw IIRC) that he'd launch a campaign to secure new funds to be able to ship old purchases and finish the other projects (most notably the Steam port), etc. so he already acknowledged the ponzi scheme (he's collecting money for something new whereas he'll be using it to fund something old, at least at first, even if from his perspective he is solving the paypal problem and that justifies not coming clean on this operation)
I've been away for like 7-8 months, but did Paprium ever get any kind of patch to fix any of the bugs or enemy AI sometimes being dumb and barely being aggressive at all?
Fonzie addressed that during a Youtube interview, they asked him what he thought about the many claims that the game needs fixing.
He stared at his shoes for a little while, then laughed through his thick beard. and uttered.. "neh, the game is good. its GOOD! Ha Ha they are trolls!" then he proceeded to "hohohohos in French"
True story, look it up.
no it hasn't been updated. Or at least he hasn't released any bugfix publicly. Of course the Megawire isn't still a thing. The only thing he promised recently is that the Steam version will have bugfixes and the new batch of carts (and the old ones awaiting shipment) will have bugfixed versions too (those people who will get the digital version early and the manga when it ships, as a sorryforthewait apology).
So we (current cart owners) are left behind as most of us won't pay for a megawire just for little AI bugfixes here and there, provided that the megawire will exist at all.
Boy I wish the megawire was just a free software that you download and then connect a 3.5 to 2.5 jack from the PC to the cart connected to console for power, and it would just flash the rom.
That's what it was going to be when it was conceived. My first prototype used just a regular TRS audio wire from a computer headphone jack to another computer microphone jack, and it could transmit data. The idea was to make an app for cellphones and computers to serve as the "modem" for the MD.
oh great thanks, at this point I do not care for online gaming or online score keeping, just the ability to update to the latest rom via the 2.5 "audio" jack (which can transmit data at -I guess- low bitrate, but that would not be a problem for this).
I swear I ordered this game but it was so long ago I think I used an email address that is now dead. I can't find any receipt :(
you should login into magicalgamefactory homepage and if you know your account details still look there. or you can search in your past history of paypal account of yours. if it is too far back you could ask PayPal Support to help you finding it. This should help you for reference:

After kickstarter backers fund 50% of Paprium's funding goal, Fonzie gives an update on the state of the campaign, the game, stretch goals and more

I don't remember where exactly, but in this recent podcast-> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axvJSqKApdo
Fonzie clearly says he's going to use the new kickstarter funds to ship the original copies to those who haven't gotten them yet... Which doesn't sound right when you put it like that.
I'm sure I don't understand all the intricacies but it's definitely something I wouldn't have said so nonchalantly, lol
edit:
here is a good timestamp: https://youtu.be/axvJSqKApdo?t=709
We all know how this is going to go. WM are using the funds from this Kickstarter to plug the holes in their budget left by their woeful mismanagement of the game's initial release, leaving most likely not enough to do all the things promised in the Kickstarter. And thus the whole cycle will repeat itself. I'm sure THEY WILL DELIVER... eventually. Just don't ask when, or how, or if you're still going to care by that point.
Also how on earth did they reach almost $350k from just 1363 backers? That's over 250 dollar per backer on average. Honestly that makes this whole thing smell even more fishy to me.
just both guides that I hesitated to purchase put you above the 100$ mark, so I find it quite easy to reach 250 once you want to actually buy the frigging game, or Pier Solar.
Everything has a price tag that could get up to $250 pretty quickly on my opinion. I hope they can get the money and fulfill all promises for everybody, especially for those still waiting. I am a bit leary of the pattern of how the project was funded. The backers basically shot to the moon then there has been little to no increase in funding in the last couple of weeks. What I've seen in the past is the more fu nding a project gets kickstarter seems to market the project and sales increase. This would be a bit different situation as there is lot of easy research that can be done that can turn off a buyer. Maybe this is everybody that wants to have a copy out there or maybe the size of the market is shrinking. I don't really play games anymore, but I invested and was lucky enough to get my order in full. I found myself back on the site to watch how this all unfolded.
Silicon shortage will prevent carts from being made, no matter how much money is available. Two critical parts in the cart are unavailable for many more months.
So much for my Christmas miracle of getting what I ordered. . .
I, too, am amazed at how much money is being thrown at him again.
I'm getting old.... So disappointed with this shit... I'm happy there are other developers that actually release their projects within a fair amount of time.. not nearly a decade later
In a way I'm glad he offered no reason why we should buy the Mega-Wire, because I'd rather never do business with the guy ever again.
I don't understand why people are so excited doing business with him again, I guess almost a decade of waiting for shitty Paprium wasn't enough punishment?
I have my Copy, Just need my Grand Stick III.
