Well when the facts don't help you, it's best not..
And this Sonic fan also knows that even when you buy games physical games on the PC you need the internet, just like most PC games

Well thanks for the honesty, but that sort of sums up the old SEGA fan... When you dont invest time or your money in a corp, it becomes easy not to be imprssed with their output
This is literally a thread about how Microsoft spent $70 billion to acquire the publisher of these games. But I am sure Microsoft will pay twice as much for SEGA because they've got Yakuza and Shin Megami Tensei and Persona, those are as American as Apple Pie itself BonusKun!
Terrible logic here, my friend.
It was Sega who gave the middle finger to the US (or western in general) for a whole gen, not the other way round.
Altered Beast never received a sequel or an improved port for the Saturn. The same for Streets of Rage, Golden Axe (the beat'em up, not that Duel shit), Ristar, Ecco, etc.
They also raped some of their IPs with the terrible Saturn's Virtua Racing and that thing they called Hang-On GP.
Nobody abandoned Sega in the 90s more than Sega themselves. They fucked over the retailers who trust them, the developers who were loyal to them and also their customers which were actually fans of their brand up until 1994 or so.
Those were all choices made by them and not by gamers.
Sonic games got progressively worse as you upgraded hardware too. Your mileage may vary but it's almost a consensus that both Sonic CD and Chaotix are not as good as the regular series on the Mega Drive. And to play those two games you'd have spent a truckload of money on hardware upgrades.
Then you upgrade again to the Saturn for $100 extra when compared to the PS1 and get either a dolled up 16-bit isometric game made by a 3rd party or an on-foot 3D racing game by the same 3rd party company which was actually developing a F1 game in the first place.
I mean, how dare those Altered Beast fans stop financing all this nonsense.
And, even so, a lot of those same people you blamed still gave Sega a second chance with the Dreamcast 'cause the line-up was really solid and you actually had a first party Sonic game there.
Then Sega quit soon after.
Sega has a lot of Sega to blame for their downfall and current brand value, especially when it comes to western audiences.
The word is always meant as an insult and he grossly misused it. The term is reserved for those people you see wearing Naruto headbands in public and online use Japanese words thrown into sentences or call people Chan at the end of a person's name. The types that buy body pillows with anime girls on them. That shit isn't for me either but anything anime is not weeb stuff. I promise you those people are not into Angel Cop or Wicked City as a general rule.
Persona and Esp Shin Megami Tensei do not fall under that banner of weeb. The subject matter is more adult and SMT esp.
I think you misunderstood my earlier post, for the record, I think most of the criticism you've been receiving is justified.
You apparently fail to see that Game Pass is FAR BIGGER than Xbox or even Xbox and PC combined. Game Pass will encompass being able to game on any device, it will be completely independent of a specific machine. Game Pass will still exist long after the Xbox console is a dim and distant memory. The Xbox will be as relevant to Game Pass in the future as the DVD rental business of Netflix is to the streaming service today. The Xbox console will be dead and buried in about 10 years, it will be irrelevant.
Frankly, your stubborn refusal to see this and your constant arguing that it only matters to the Xbox console and playing it off as Xbox "getting one over" PlayStation is immensely frustrating to most people.
That said, I don't believe that people should slag off an entire sub section of gaming by using such a term like Baloo used, just because they don't like it. Labelling people that like that style of games as Weeboos is insulting and hypocritical considering what was said before that.
He's an idiot. Logic escapes him at every turn Stu.
Just look at that goofy (Captain Obvious) post he made about those Sonic games, as if those games requiring the internet adds anything to the discussion.
LOL I know, he doesn't have a clue. I've got one of those Sega PC DVD discs for Sonic All Star Racing Transformed and it is basically an install disc for Steam .. nothing else. There's no game files of any kind on the disc. WTF does he think Steam has to do with GamePass anyway?? LOL Insane. At least with Steam (and the Epic Store) they give away free games regularly and I don't have to pay a freaking monthly fee for that privilege, unlike Xbox Live gold and PS Plus.
Back on topic
Anyway I've been browsing other forums and some people are speculating that this MS-Activision tie-up may end up with Microsoft using it as leverage to have Game Pass "sideloaded" somehow on to PlayStation .. that is pretty far fetched and crazy to think about, but I think that happening would be just too much for little console warriors like TA to handle ...lol :daze: #xbotmindblown
Some other things that people are speculating is that Microsoft's next target may be Square Enix, not sure how that would turn out since I believe Sony own a chunk of stock in SE, some are saying that the western side of SE (think Eidos and Crystal Dynamics) may end up going to MS and Sony would pick up the rest. Just conjecture right now
Sony sold off its 20% share in SE ages and ages ago.
They sold back their shares to Square-Enix. Sony bailed Square out, when they went bust from making The Spirits Within movie.
I can't quote Barone I get some error messages. Altered Beat has a reboot on PS2 in Japan so it did have a sequel of sorts. Besides, it was just a random name of IPs. Replace it with any SEGA IP you want.
Stu,
I made sure to say it was more than just about the Xbox or PC, and talked of the 'Cloud' which is MS hope to get Gamepass into billions of homes across the world. If this was SONY buying Take-Two you think the SONY fans wouldn't cheer it and welcome it, Restera & NeoGAF would go into meltdown. It's like in sport, when your team spending big or doing well, it's great and even better if your rival is having an offseason. It's all childish and a lot of tosh bit its fun and banter at the end of the day. Just like Man U fans cry foul now that Man City is spending and winning titles, quick enough to give it, not so hot at taking it back.
It's funny you tried to call me out for insults and yet you let rip. Also, my whole point of Sonic Gen PC was it didn't matter if you bought the game physically, you needed a steam account and unlike Sonic Transformed it also came with a disc. I even made sure to picture the disc, you nasty evil little man
Like I said, to game on the PC these days you need the internet So to see Gamevet call that out is laughable, just like your utter hypocrisy over insults. Thanks for telling the gaming world if you game on PC, you need the internet. So all issues over gamepass or physical media are void if you're a PC gamer
I like XBox and am very happy MS is spending big on the division and that the Xbox is here to stay. The only ones not happy are the usual Xbox haters or SONY fans like you.
What goes around, comes around.
This place heheh :)
I'm just imagining the year 2060 -
Sega-16 will all be a virtual reality space where people can interact with each other. Old man Team Andromeda will still be arguing with old man Gamevet, who will start beating him over the head with a virtual cane, Barone will be roused from his virtual board game "will you two stop arguing for one second!" he'll likely shout, Baloo will look up and say "eh? what are you two arguing about now? Let me go find my hearing aid" and he'll shuffle off with his virtual zimmer frame. MrMatthews will be quietly sitting by the virtual window, staring out to the virtual garden, a wool rug laid out across his lap.
Leynos will be debating the current state of Sega with the younger members of the site "Sega aren't what they used to be back in the 2020s!" he'll be lamenting "back when they were releasing classic IPs like Yakuza and Persona" now long left dormant, the reply he'll get will likely be something like "Those IPs were never really popular! Sega's new games are bigger than they ever were! they're sold across three different planets worth of people now!"
Still, a nice community, bar a few members horrible insults,, but nothing beats a bit of banter
I plan on praising SEGA, Jackie Chan, Ferrari and loving Xbox for the next 30 years. I still live in hope Max and Andreas will kiss (pardon the pun) and makeup and we'll have the original Sepultura doing a tour
What goes around
Comes around
You're going down
Down, Down SONY ;) :P
Viva La Raza XBOX
Your point about Sonic on the PC not really being the physical game is you being Captain Obvious TA. Anybody that has gamed on a PC for the past 10 years knows that. The physical media you pop into your PS4/5 or Xbox One/Series consoles isn’t the full game either. Forza Horizon 5 is around 100 GB of data, which no single BR disc is capable of holding. You need the internet to actually play that game on Xbox. Resistance 3 won’t even work on the PS3 without a patch and the early PS3 consoles can’t even install it right; all you get is a black screen when trying to play the game. Physical media for gaming is pretty much dead. The case and CD are just there to make you believe that you own a physical copy of the game.
I know Mr Vet, which was why your outburst or physical media was a little suspect. You know there are some Switch games that are so large you need to download the rest of the content because the media can't hold it all.
It's not like any true gamer around the world isn't already on the web,
You speak of Resistance 3, can you go online with that these days?
My point was why are you bringing it up, Mr. Andromeda? It’s a well known fact and useless to the discussion.
I barely played Resistance 2 online and never had any intentions of playing 3 online either. I love the campaigns and weapons. Those online servers have been down for nearly a decade, but the patches are still available to install the game.
@ TA - what the heck are you babbling about now? I'm going to respond to individual quotes because I had to wade through your rambling nonsense.
From what I've seen on here, nobody really gives a crap who buys Activision, then only one who does is the YOU, prancing around in your green Xbox cheerleader outfit like an idiot shaking your little green pom poms chanting stupid shit like "Viva La Raza XBOX" "GO team XBOX !!!" and "Down, Down SONY". And you wonder why people on here are calling you names like dumbass etc?
Seriously, if you want to piss off Sony fanboys go and post that crap on "Restera & NeoGAF"
I never called you out for anything, you fool, I was pointing out the hypocrisy of Baloo telling people to quit insulting you and then him calling people who like anime themed games "weeboos" - try learning to read.
There you go TA, does that make you feel better? Good
There you go with childish console warrior crap again, geeez give it a break.
Microsoft has always spent their way into the gaming industry, one of the first things they did was buy RARE and then tried to buy up Nintendo (but got laughed at by Nintendo's management and told to fuck off.
Their move surprised absolutely no one. If Sony had done it then people would say the same thing, both Sony and Microsoft have bought their way into gaming.
Just make a forum section just for TA where every thread he talks to a bot praising MS and he can E stroke with it. I'm sure Papa Phil will thank TA for his amazing years of loyalty with a big award ceremony.
I don't care about Activision myself, it's more the intent, I care about and how Xbox is here to stay. . I made sure to talk of the Xbox Cloud, PC and Xbox Console; MS doesn't care on which you game, as long as you use their products and services.
SONY spent their way to way into the industry too, only a few of their studios was actually set up by SONY, the rest were bought, just like with SONY film and music empire
And Viva La Raza and the rest if a bit of fun and banter, C'Mon just like in football/sports. It's not in any way meant to be serious and just pee take from my fav bands Sepultura and Brujeria.
Its like how the Man Utd fans are now upset, that Man City can outspend them and win more than them. It's all a bit of banter and fun when your team is on the ascendancy
I
SHUT UP ALREADY!
Are you trying to get banned?
Yay TA! You picked the right side this time!!!
OMG Microsoft has finally avenged Sega!!!!!!!! Go Phil, go!!!
Sony lost the console wars thanks to people like you TA; oh, man, you're a true hero! A true Sega man!
Now write another letter to Santa and tell him that you want MS to buy Sega! They'll bring back the super scalers and have the next Xbox with an ASIC for sprite scaling just like the Mega CD had.
Go TA! It's your time to shine, make us proud! Now that you and MS have defeated evil Sony all we need is your help to put Sega back on top.
Maybe a good time for the Dreamcast 2 or the Xbox Dream; with MS using Sega's IPs to finally push bloody Nintendo out of the business.
Oh, wow, TA; you're a legend. Keep up the good work!
Not defending TA, but there are still a lot of games which do come on the disc. Just these a-hole AAA companies that believe games have to be super massive to be good might be jumping ship on the physical format. I mean, they're charging $70 now, can't they bump it up to a 4K Blu Ray disc? In the case of Halo Infinite, they only put 12GB on the disc, and the entire campaign game is 28GB. You've got to download the other half.
Also as you know, some assholic publishers just put like 100MB on, and make you download the entire thing like your copy of MX vs ATV was, the "anniversary edition" or whatever. That game is not over 50 GB, can't be. Even with all DLC that was included, I wouldn't believe it. They just don't wanna put it on the disc, so why even manufacture one?
I have a physical copy (with the Collector’s tin case) of Axiom Verge for the PC. Even if I wanted to install it straight from the disc, Steam starts downloading the game instead. The game file isn’t even 1 GB. It seems like every Switch game I get has at least a 100 MB download before I can play it. Him bringing up a PC game was the worst example, because there was absolutely no way that any of the A games in the last decade for the platform could fit on the single CD shipped in the case. Still, what point was he trying to make, when all of that was already brought up before he posted that.
I’d rep ya Barone, but I have to spread to love elsewhere 1st.
Can't rep Barone.
I gave him a rare moderator's rep. He deserved it.
Thanks, mate,
Keep on with the good fight too, You true Mega Drive Hero and an inspiration to many a young whippersnapper
Now, write a letter to Santa asking him for more colours and then you can really shine in 256 glory
Then write another letter and ask him to bring back Tom to SEGA  So the Mega Drive will live on and outsell the PlayStation, Xbox and put Nintendo out of business (we can but hope) Just please be gentle with my Phil, that's all I ask.
To fight like you takes AGES

FTC is reviewing the purchase.
Yep, I'd said it earlier that the FTC might block this takeover, much like they're doing with Nvidia's attempt to acquire ARM.
FTC can fuck off. Who are they helping by delaying these deals? Not really surprised though given the current administration, seems slowing down business as much as possible is the top priority.
