The Immortal

You've blown through Crusader of Centy, finished Landstalker, played through Light Crusader, and you're wondering what's next. Gah, where can you find the time? I beat the NES version and bought the Genesis one a few years ago and just could not remember all the patterns and such to make it through. It's a really well made game, but I think that sort of constant trial-and-error, play-die-repeat gameplay has gone the way of the dodo.

I gotta say that was probably the best game review I have read on this site. Very well done and to the point. I am adding this game on my next to buy list :)

Spot on review, well written too!

I recall the game being overly difficult for its time. Sounds to me it's no easier today. I'm still going to add this to my list of games to get. I love being tortured.

True enough, but when I played this game, I met with death very quickly, and very often. So I got up from the edge of my seat and put a better game in.

Good review. But my problem with this game is the kind of challenge. Since I don't really like to read FAQs and prefer to discover things by myself - it's extremely hard to beat the game this way. Everything is confuse, not offering many clues (the final boss battle, for example).

Great review. When I played this (for about five minutes) I felt that although it pissed me off, having died about twenty times in those five minutes, it had the potential to be an awesome game. After reading the review I'm going to dust off my copy of Immortal and try not to get annoyed with it.

Sometimes I'm so awesome I wish there was a statue of me somewhere so that I could go and worship it.

This brings up an interesting question... if you keep your collection of games in alphabetical order, do you file this game under I for Immortal, or W for Will Harvey?

I'd file it under 'D' for DOS, because that's the only version of the game that I own.
