There was supposed to be Phantasy Star Trilogy for the PS2. Whatever happened to that?
Sega Ages: Phantasy Star: End of the Millenium has still yet to be released in Japan. That has to come out first, before they can translate the trilogy.
If Sega wimps out on a U.S. release for this, I will be sorely pissed. This simply must come out here.
They better release it, I already pre ordered it. I would't be a happy camper if the ax this release.
The problem is that Sega has changed the concept of Sega Ages now. It's no longer a remake series but a classic release series and since the previous PHANTASY STAR games were retouched and had animated cut scenes and improved graphics how would that fit in with the new direction of the Sega Ages series ?
they are still titles that deserve a US release.
They went ahead and released the old collection in the states anyway.
But I still find myself wanting a re-touched PS4.
Perhaps they can make it a directors cut with all the stuff that Reiko Kodama originally wanted in the genesis version.
That's a good question. Keep in mind also that the new Sega Ages releases are compilations. So maybe Sega Ages Phantasy Star: EotM is canned? Which would mean the Trilogy, by extension, is also canned.Quote:

From what i found out the SegaAges label will still have remakes but include the original versions of the games as well. So PHANTASY STAR 4 seems likely to be released in a touched up format.Quote:

Which... maybe PS4 falls under that, I don't know.Quote:

I have no idea if the planned BARE KNUCKLE/STREETS OF RAGE remake is still to be released as with PHANTASY STAR 4 even though it is still listed on Sega's release schedule on the Sega of Japan website.Quote:

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
As far as I know, PS Trilogy is no longer to be released, partly due to the fact that PS 4 remake has been scrapped in Japan, and that Conspiracy Entertainment in the US is no longer publishing the game.
Nah,Sega is still going to release PHANTASY STAR 4 in Japan,Consiparcy was just doing the english versions but now SegaSammy is taking care of it's own games from now on.
I wonder if they are gonna change all the translation screw ups they had in the original genny and SMS releases...
need I say the Lutz/Noah thing that changed each freaking game. What the bugger hell? If your gonna alter the name keep it through the series. When I originally got to the end of PS2 years back I got really confused... "that looks like Noah, but who is this Llll... lou... lut? WTF!?"
PS4 kind of cleared that up with the whole Rune thing.
