This is very exciting news for me. Apparently there's not only Sonic protos, either - but literally HUNDREDS from other MegaDrive games, including over 18 different prototypes of Ecco 2, new levels and all!
The 23rd will be a lovely day indeed.

I and a small group of seasoned Ecco prototype researchers will be picking apart, documenting and detailing all aspects of the Ecco prototypes, as well as coordinating ROM releases on DARK SEA and Drx's Hidden Palace site, in order from Oldest to Newest builds, approaching the final versions. At current count there are 35 Ecco prototypes.

I'm rather curious to see if anything unreleased shows up, preferably in somewhat playable condition.
He doesn't have to expect them--drx made it very clear that there are indeed very significant differences, as well as multiple prototypes. For people like Epicenter, this is a massive goldmine.Quote:

The cancelled sonic satam game was "Sonic The Hedgehog Mars" (i think it was called that) they have lots of info about it at Sonic Cult. This is the only pcture i've ever seen:

Yes those are the screenshots. :D Those special stages would have probably been better than the rest of Sonic 3D which was abject tosh.
