My computer is old. I'm talking decrepit. In computer years it's like 1000. So I've been thinking of building a new one and plugging a Linux distro with wine into it.
What I have:
micro ATX case (needs a power supply)
Keyboard & Mouse
Monitor
SATA DVD drive
Not much, but it's a start. I'm out of the loop on newer tech though so I need some pointers on processors and mobos. I'll also need a hard drive and memory and better-than-integrated graphics card (compatible with Linux). I'm looking to spend about $200-$300. I might go up to $500, but only if the gains are really significant. Any suggestions?
