I think the Star Wars certainly earned it's place in pop culture. You see "Darth Vader" and "May the force be with you" pop up in numerous places in the years between trilogies.

But I think release of "Episode 1" was where things went from being "Yeah man I like Star Wars" to full nerdiness that rivals the most hardcore of Trekkies. The whining/griping/justification of its greatness *after* the movie came out only served to make the fans look even worse.

And yes I've seen "Episode 1". It is a very middle of the road sci-fi movie that gets unjustified love because the name "Star Wars" is on it. But Natalie Portman was a total babe in the movie.

Star Wars Episode 1 was unwatchable garbage, at least the Episode 2 & 3 turned out good, though they all pale in comparison to the original trilogy.

And I'll defend my opinion that Jar-Jar Binks was funny. I actually really like him mostly as a middle finger to all those Star Wars Nerds who tirelessly argued that "Episode 1" was...ahem "great" and that it was dragged down by that *one* character.

My biggest problem with Episode 1 was that I thought the actor for Anakin was too young. I think they should have used the same actor for all three movies like they did with the original Starwars films. I always felt he should have started out as an Aladdin like street rat and then progressed up to evil maniac with chip on shoulder.

She is easier on the eyes than Anthony Kiedis. But her breasts might not be as big as his.

I remember seeing a video of him (Jake Lloyd) about 2-3 years ago talking about after the movie. Some people who saw it said he was bitter, I thought he was reserved considering the nerd rants of the day tried to single him out as a reason the movie blew. I don't find it hard to believe "overly passionate" fans would talk shit to a little kid to express their disappointment. I think he should have full on vented as those asshole whiners needed to hear how bad they were.

But you are correct, he was too young. I found it hard to believe that little kid was putting the moves on a older chick like that.

My biggest problem was that the story sucked, the droids were all retarded and then Jar Jar. But yeah a bratty "immaculate conception" kid didn't exactly endear me either. What is it with Lucas and inappropriate romances anyway. The original three had Luke flirting with his TWIN SISTER. The second three has ten year old Anakin flirting with a girl who looked to be over twenty. He tries to cover this up by saying that Padme was 14 when she took the throne, but man I haven't seen a fourteen year old that looked like her before. At least Padme seemed to blow Anakin off as the stupid kid he was. But then she grimmaced every time she was in a "romance" scene with the older actor too, so maybe I'm just reading into her disgust with the direction and writing. ;)

The first Bayformers movie did this with Megan Fox too, so she's a high school student and we're supposed to look her all over while she checks the car? Right, I think there are laws about that.

Maybe she was on the 5 or 6 year High School program. :p

So much drawn out unnecessary dialogue in that movie. Its like they never shut up. Why do they waste so much time about R2 saving the ship,? (toy sales I think) . Or when she meets him the fist time, etc . It just goes on and on. It makes for a very clunky movie that just drags. I tired to edit down and to make my own Phantom Edit. It helped but not enough. As much as everyone hates the kid at least he has an excuse for sucking. Portman and Jackson throughout that whole series were terrible.
