I play mine all the time. I did just get one though so that's probably why.
I have to say it's better than any other portable I've ever played.
The fact that it's softmoded to run unsigned material is just one more reason I like it so much.
Being able to have so many gaming options at my fingertips is infinitely satisfying.
Having a jailbroken system is one of the best things you can do with any device. As long as you're not pirating games for the system and playing them for free, what's the harm?
I love me a bit of GBC gaming especially played on the original system. It's comfortable in my hands.
Looking into getting a screen mod done to it. Because no doubt that external lighting sucks. lol

The Deus Ex creators play their own game 15 years later.
Lead Programmer and Assistant Director, Chris Norder, the writer, Sheldon Pacotti, and the Project Director and Producer Warren Spector get involved and tell you about their own various ways of playing the game and what they thought of certain elements at the time. They also take the time to laugh at some of the features that obviously have not aged all that well. If you’re a Deus Ex fan you have to watch it. It’s like a high school reunion, except that this is fun.

Given the choice, I would have preferred a weak frontlight like the GBA SP had. I'd think that would have been feasible a bit earlier.
The GB Light was backlit back in early '98. It took them another 5 years to again put some form of lighting in their handhelds.
They sure took their sweet time about it. :p
There was also a frontlit model of the Game.com.
