Of course.
Well as profholt82 just showed, theres many worse slang terms that are used to refer to it.
The same thing with westerns, I think they started being created in the 1920s and 30s. Thats a significant 30-40 year gap but it still counts.

It's strange seeing so much hyperventilating over the Kevin Williamson thing. Or maybe I just need to get off the internet.
I’ve decided that no good comes from reading anything on the internet. Just stick to porn.
So I just found out there is this website(VG-Grader) that grades the condition of your games them seal them in a case so that you cannot play them. People think this sites opinion is gospel. You can't play them! What the fucking hell is the point then!? That's stupid. Who are these people to slap a number on a case to seal a game form playing? Who are they and what degree says they are the experts? This just sounds like a scam to mark up prices on eBay..for a game you can't play and why such common games? I'm sorry but this whole concept is dumb. Really baffling. If you are not playing them then break that stupid case open and give those who want to play it a chance to. Don't rip them off doing it either. I am giving my second Dreamcast Camera and a copy of Wild Guns reloaded to Nathan Barnatt because he is such a genuine dude and so thankful it seemed far more satisfying to give it to someone who greatly appreciates it than sell it to someone random on eBay. Games are meant to be played and enjoyed. Sorry for the rant but I can't help how I feel.
Reminds me of a thread from a few years back about some idiot who actually encased a rare & valuable game in a solid plastic brick and tried to sell it for some ridiculous price. He was also baffled by the negative reception, as well.
Coins I know but a bit different when I sold my couple thousand-year-old greek coin than sealing Uncharted on PS3 in a case you can't play. No one can convince me games are not meant to be played. If I found a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga sealed at a yard Sale for 10 bucks or whatever I'd open that shit and play it. Damn right.
I love whoever runs the Arby's twitter. Not long ago they made a tribute to Jet Set Radio and before that a cardboard Switch and now Persona 5. If they did this with your order I'd actually eat there.

I'd never heard of him until recently myself. In a nutshell, he's a blowhard with shitty opinions who got hired by The Atlantic to write shitty opinion pieces. But then he got fired after just a couple weeks, due to a bunch of people objecting to his hiring based on a couple of especially shitty things he's said. Which has now resulted in a different firestorm, with a bunch of wise guys coming out of the woodwork to loudly complain that he got fired "just for having a different opinion". Apparently it hasn't dawned on these people that the opinions of an opinion writer are directly relevant to the job.
