What kind of games do you like?

In all honesty I've always wondered where the hell you guys get the time to play all these games! It just amazes me the amount of titles across so many platforms that so many of you have played. I was a hardcore gamer growing up and remained so right up to the end of the PS2's life, after which I just had less and less time and have been pretty much a casual gamer ever since. Not by choice, I might add, but just by virtue of the fact that work and life took over. I still discover games from time to time and play the fuck out of them, but those times are few and far between now. I seriously miss the days when I had so much free time to really get into a deep gaming experience, and I seriously envy those of you who still have that free time. Lucky bastards! :p
I don’t have nearly the time as I used to. I usually carry a DS with me to work, and every once and a while I will sneak some time in. At home, I often play for a few hours after people go to bed. I sometimes wish I had more time to play, but in reality, I’ve found that the less limited my free time is, I’m more likely to do something other than play video games
That's exactly what happens to me! I make all these plans in my head to sit down with either an old game from my collection or a new game on my days off work and really get some good gaming in, and then along come my days off and I end up doing something completely different and usually not games related at all! It's weird and frustrating at the same time.
Kid Icarus Uprising is awesome (though your experience may differ). The story is engaging, but it’s all over the place. I really like the characters. The sticking point for most people are the controls, which are perfect for the flying sections but quite cumbersome during the land sections (which account for roughly 50% of the game).
The Fire Emblem games, as mentioned above. I love the series, but I’ve only played ... I think it’s Awakenings(?) on the 3DS. It was fantastic.
Link Between Worlds was awesome.
I really enjoyed Metroid II, but I don’t know if you’d consider that story-driven.
Zero’s Last Reward (I think that’s what it’s called)... sequel to 999. Kind of a macabre point and click adventure. If JJ Abrams made a video game, it would probably be like this
Mario 3D Land: you’ll either like it or you won’t. You probably know the answer to that already (but I really liked it).
Remember theres a couple reasons why its Nintendo's first commercial failure home console, and they now pretend like it never existed.
Anyways I'm still playing GTA IV. I love how when Niko enters a room full of Jamaicans, the first thing they say is "who's this cracker?"
Pikmin 3.
