I was a manager at Gamestop during the first few years of the 7th gen. Bonus. You will see all kinds of idiocy like that. I had a dude come in who believed the PS3 was developed since the 80s to be so powerful nothing would top it for 20 years. He believed that the reason 3rd party games ran poorly those years was because it was just too powerful for devs to understand it. I'm sure you have the reg who comes in often who never buys anything by now. You might also have the guy who comes in a lot to talk about the one genre he loves. Hopefully not the dude who wears a Naruto hat and a cape and smells like unwashed ass. I hated midnight releases. Of all the reps we had the Sony one was the best. She was super cool and brought us free stuff all the time. Nintendo one was the worst.

I mean it's nice of them to let them know that service in that area is gonna be affected, but I don't think people who are fearing a volcano going off are giving two shits in regards to their parcels at that time.

Well someone could have had something shipped from there and sometimes the packages are not just junk people buy. My brother sends my mom a box every month of medical stuff she can't afford from Cali. I see no issue letting people know. Plus not everyone there is affected.

I told him "Nintendo is the one company that isn't going to go broke in yours or my lifetime. They could bleed money for years and still stay in business."

Then this shit.. "Well Nintendo is doing great now and they're really rich." I noticed him looking at an LE Box for Sonic Mania for Ps4 and then he says..

"Well you know how well Nintendo is doing since they own Sega now."

I was like... "Uh no Nintendo doesn't own Sega at all."

"Yes they do, They've owned Sega since 2014 so it's funny seeing a company owned by Nintendo making games on the PS4."

"No, Nintendo has never owned any of Sega's properties."

"Yes they do! It's all about the money since Nintendo owns Sega they easily can get their games on other systems for which Nintendo is smart with!"

After that I just stopped talking to the guy and let him go on his merry way. I normally don't let shit like that bother me but the way he mouthed it off like it was pure fact and he believed it just hit a rare nerve within me.

I don't think I could work in a game store. I've heard so many horror stories from people about scummy customers doing scummy things. What's it like where you work?

Honestly it's not that bad. It's very relaxed for me the days I work and working for an independent owned store vs a retail giant like Game stop has it's perks. I don't have to feel like I'm forced to sell shit so much and I still make a lot of sales just by being me. Don't ever work for Game Stop tho. It's a terrible company that will literally kill your love for this hobby,.

^ I guess he was thinking that because Sega had an exclusivity deal with the Wii U for a bit, but just for select Sonic titles. Some people just come to their own conclusions and refuse to check the facts. Never understood why anyone who does that would bother to argue with people.

I think another problem would be you actually run into those stereotypical gamers that everyone thinks of, the fat basement dwellers that smell like garbage and got the plumbers crack showing. I've seen them at my local independent game store playing card games.

Alas, it's a rainy morning... hopefully it clears up within two hours when gym opens up. Won't stop from resulting in a sweatier workout due to humidity, but missed two days already so need to make today happen. Window for working out is fresh first thing in the morning when gym opens, the more I sit around the more laziness & procrastination kicks in.

Wow...words fail me. You did well to not lose your cool with such an idiot. I mean, it's one thing to believe something in ignorance, until somebody comes along and corrects you, but it's another thing entirely to be utterly convinced of something so totally ass-backwards. I didn't even meet the guy and I'm annoyed. Nintendo owning Sega indeed...the nerve of that prick! I'd have got him in a headlock and washed his mouth out with soap. Not that I suggest you treat your customers like that though. It would be bad for business! :D

his evening should be fun. I'm going to go hang out with Inverse Phase the video game composer. Me him and a couple of guys going retro game shopping then grabbing a burger. I always wear gaming shirts but today is Guardian Heroes day. He just happened to be going through my town and we talked on twitter.
