Well they say we've only explored about 8% of the world's oceans and that we know more about the moon than we know about what lies beneath the waves, so there's plenty of room for more discoveries.

I was watching some deep ocean documentary a while back, where creatures live their entire lives in intense blackness at the very bottom of the deepest parts of the sea.

Kind of creeped me out a bit... that kind of environment might as well be on another planet, for as detached as they are from human life as we know it. We could bomb ourselves to complete extinction and life down there would be totally unaffected.

I imagine our tiny little subs drifting down are akin to UFOs: seen by few and dismissed by most as pure fantasy or delusion.

Yes thats a big point I mentioned. When you think of intelligent animals, they're usually a mammal(dogs, cats, wolves, whales) or closely related(eagles, falcons, parrots, sharks). But optupuses and squids are very distantly related, like 600 million years of separation. So that means their high intelligence was evolved completely independently. And when you think other very distantly related animals like jellyfish and worms, you wouldn't call them even intelligent.

Outlook Express on Windows 10. Yesh. It only properly works with my Gmail account tho (lol), on my Outlook account it'll just let me send messages, but not receive them.

The last Windows update Cumulative Update June 26, 2018—KB4284848 corrupted some of my system files. So some things like the Mail and Calendar app, Outlook (fixed), Office Click to Run (fixed), Edge extensions (fixed) Xbox Game Bar, Memory Management (fixed) are not functioning right. Even sent paid internet security software into a tailspin.
Had to run sfc /scannow to fix some of the issues and do others manually but some still unfixed.
It's been a fun time. Joy?

I take it you're on W10? Yeah, I heard their latest bunch of updates have been pretty bad. I blocked updates on my machine a while back - I'd rather go unprotected than deal with M$'s crappy forced, untested updates and silly "features".
