This is pretty much that.
It has been discussed before. Forgot what the consensus was. I think I may have proposed some kind of open access live Youtube multi podcast of some sort. But it would have to be connected to sega-16 to make it more official. But at the end of the day, any kind of live chat room would veer the attention from the forums too much. And I think that's where Melf may have been coming from.
Ole Stan looks like he'd be a dick if you met him in R.L.
Nobody wants to talk about Saturn games. They just wanna speculate about what could’ve been.
Sega-16, the speculation theories forum.
Aahhh. No. Just. No.:?
To be honest, when the Saturn and PlayStation came out, I was so out of touch with gaming I didn’t even know which was which. I went over to a friend’s house and he had both systems set up, but I’m pretty sure the Saturn was the first one I played. We played Mega Man 8 for a bit but settled on Symphony of the Night for a good while, and that’s the game that sold me on that particular console generation.
One of the reasons I like discussing games in this thread other than the other sections - people care too much about the technical aspects of gaming, other than the actual gameplay. You peeps are far more grounded and well...normal. Not the right word, but you get the jest of what I'm saying.
I don't give two shits about what color that pixel is or how many polygons the Game Boy can display. I just want to discuss games, man. Can't do it that in most threads, it just devolves in techie arguments and endless youtube "proof" spam.
During the 16-bit generation I was Sega through and through, but because most of my friends had gone for a PS1 after that I followed suit despite wanting a Saturn. Being able to trade games with friends was a huge deal to us because of the high prices, ya see? I loved my PS1, but it's only after the last few years of owning a Saturn, and starting to collect for it, that I know how great the Saturn's library of games is.
Yup, I agree. I care about the games. I have most major consoles from SEGA, Sony, Nintendo, MS, and NEC. When I buy games on PS4. No one cares. I play a game on Switch and suddenly blind fanboy and being damned because it's nnot as powerful and from SEGA's enemy from 1992. I prefer Saturn over PS1. On a SEGA forum that's expected but anywhere else people just assume the Saturn was shit and think you're a dumbass. I'm not saying graphics don't matter as I always appreciate good visuals but the difference is I appreciate them for the console they are on. What game is pushing that particular hardware not how it compares to others. Most importantly is gameplay. If I find the game fun that's what I care about most. There is one thing I put nearly on the same level as gameplay sometimes. The music. Sometimes I have been guilty of buying a game because it has a good soundtrack like I did with Browning on PC Engine.
