As for myself, I look at it like this: a while ago, the JFK assassination debacle was a conspiracy theory. Now it’s a conspiracy FACT, and in reality the details are even more gruesome than we originally thought. We readily accept that other governments are corrupt and manipulative, murdering their own people for what they see as the greater good, and at the same time we believe that we’re the only country in the world with a government that isn’t willing to break some eggs to make an omelet?
Anyone who believes that a show like House of Cards is pure fantasy is kidding themselves. Again, if that helps you sleep at night, more power to you. I can totally accept every single conspiracy “theory” as completely plausible and reasonable, and I’m able to lead a stress-free, generally happy life. You don’t have to be insane to believe that some or all of these things might be true, but in my opinion, you do have to be a little crazy and ignorant to just vehemently deny it.
