I've always liked Metallica's music, but for some reason the band themselves just really piss me off. They just exude assholishness. It may just be Hetfield. He's an ass.

They all turned into pansies . My case in point. ( I hate Megadeth)

I used to like Metallica, until that whole Napster debacle.

It wasn't so much the sharing of MP3's, its the way Lars and Hetfield acted (mostly Lars though).

Their best stuff is before the black album.

I haven't liked Metallica's music for several albums now, and they ARE asses.

Especially Lars.

I call James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich "The brothers Ass"

James is "Jack Ass"
Lars is "Dumb Ass"

And you usually only see or hear from both of them (in public they are the only visible part of Metallica).

I'd think someone would have to be a pretty *BIG* Metallica fan to stick with them since the 80's. You'd also have to be a rather forgiving fan if Metallica busted you for trading/downloading live bootlegs of their shows and still listen to them.

I liked them enough at the time to try to look past that. plus, I always would rather buy the actual CD anyway, so I felt that their bitching didn't really apply to me.

But nowadays I'm just done with their bullshit.

The way I look at it, being a Metallica fan is like having a girlfriend who used to be awesome, but lately all she does is complain and nag at you, AND she stopped putting out.

There's no reason to keep her around.

In my mind, wanting live concert bootlegs came after buying actual CD's.

Which is why suing over live concert stuff seems silly.

If you download stuff, even live concerts, Lars Ulrich may have to wait a few more days to get his gold plated shark tank.

The Nine Inch Nails curently encourage fans to download bootleg recordings of three of their last concerts, then to edit them into a more watchable fashion and then redistribute them via torrents!

That's the way to do it!
