Tell us of Dan Houser's doings. Is he one of the Listen and Believe cult, that called all game players misogynist Nazi permavirgin basement dwelling neck-bearded alt-right transphobic bigots? He's not on my radar for some reason. Then again, I tend to go dark for months or years at a time, so I may have missed something big in the recent past.
Nothing you would have heard on some website. Friend worked there a number of years. Stories are his to tell but Dan is a baby coddled by his brother. If you ever seen Grandboys boy think of the kid in the black trenchcoat developer. :P
The only R* story I will tell doesn't really involve R* but Nintendo. My friend was pulling long shifts and I know him to be one he works himself to the bone but one day he didn't get enough sleep. That day Mr. Miyamoto and Iwata were taking a tour of the place for GTA Chinatown Wars on DS. Well As the Manager was taking the turn he was introducing the department and Shiggy hears some snoring and my friend wakes up to the sound of a madman screaming in his face and it was Miyamoto losing his shit screaming at him. Iwata stepped in front of Miyamoto to calm him down. Meanwhile, my buddy is trying to process if this is happening or not. So to this day when I mention Miyamoto around him, his whole body shudders lol.

That was his only encounter with Nintendo and it's just funny. He said Iwata was a really nice guy from the rest of the visit. Never met them after that. I do have a picture of him with Suda51. He worked with R* for several years. Count your lucky stars Max Payne 3 even got released. The studio was so cheap they did not put out for extra HDD's to move around TB's of data from one department to the next so instead, they relied on SD cards. Terabytes of data share between many SD cards moved around an office with a huge staff. They finally opted for portable HDD's later. I also don't care for R* writing personally with its lame edginess and low brow humor. It's that Jr High/Middle School kinda of edgy. He's better about it than the hack that is David Jaffe but it's still there. All my friend did is re-enforce I don't care for R* as even before I met him I skipped GTA IV. He and his co-worker friend left R* in 2012 & 2013 I believe to become indie devs.
This is nothing special but the early years of 7th gen from the launch of PS3 and Wii I did work at Gamestop. A lot of stuff happened there. The best rep we had as in the nicest. Sony rep. It's klinda strange despite my disdain for Gamestop I'm glad I got the experience and partly because I was in my early 20s and just started living in my first apratment and other things in my life. I have grown a strange fondness and nostalgia for just those early years of 7th generation games. The part people consider the worst part of it. *shrug*

Overworked. Also, it's not exactly a secret Miyamoto has a temper when not in the public eye. R* overworked him but even on his free time, he overworks himself. Miyamoto was only on a tour. He wasn't his employer. It's not uncommon for some developers to have a pillow and a blanket under the desk and spend all night at the office. He wasn't as his head was just on the desk out like a light.Quote:
