Yeah, Event Horizon was great.

It's a shame we will never get the directors cut. The extra footage during the hell scene is insane going by what is described. Sadly the footage no longer exists.
I was already hyped for Astral Chain but digital foundry said playing it's a mix of Deus Ex Machina/Zelda/Burning Rangers with a Platinum spin, Holy shit I need that now!
Has anyone seen Pandorum? It's a great spiritual successor. Great film but a lot of it is explained in subtle ways so many don't get it the first time. It's a very visual film in building up to its story and world.
RIP Rutger Hauer

^^Pandorum was the last of it's kind. I miss movies like those.
^No way! RiP cybernetic blindswordsman. You were a superhero.
For the longest time I thought the spelling of "Rutger" was a contagious typo. In my mind it was always Roger Hauer.
R.I.P.
YouTube no longer allows cursing even hell or damn if you want to be monetized. At first, I thought RIP AVGN then I thought RIP YouTube period. Man fuck this shit.
Thou shalt not cuss!
"Thou shalt not say the fuck word, but thou must make creepy pedo videos and have legions of paid Chinese viewers look upon them to inflate thine views and watch time."
Pandorum is a very good film, very disturbing and in a similar vein to Event Horizon as you say. I still regard Event Horizon to be of THE best sci fi horror films I've ever seen and it's criminally underrated I think. It's genuinely scary and very disturbing. The moment when they finally decode the ship's onboard camera feed and you see what happened to the original crew once they made the jump to hyperspace...holy shit... I have the special edition on both DVD and Blu Ray and I watched the quick flash footage of what the original crew did to each other and how they died in slow mo...yeah...that shit is horrific and I'm still amazed that Paul Anderson and co had the balls to film that, let alone show it to the BBFC and hope they'd pass it with an 18 certificate! Apparently the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) watched the original cut including the un-edited 'hell' scene and then turned to look at Paul Anderson and said "Nope, not even with an 18 certificate. No chance." :p
